27 November
Currently 21 weeks... going on 22 weeks shortly! New to the site, and wanted to post a comment. I am still getting morning sickness, and the doctor has me on Zofran and Reglin to help me so that I can eat and keep it down. It's bad!! I lost 25 pounds the first few months!!! I've been sitting at around the same weight now the past 2 months. The doc has me at gaining 2 lbs back!! that's good!!!! I suppose the baby is doing quiet well as well as his weight tho! (u/s says he's a pound already!) They found a 2 vessel cord and larg kidneys at my last u/s about 3 weeks ago. The doctor seems a little worried about it, and says they want me to speak to the high risk OB. I havent been able to find much on the cord and kidneys on the internet together. The doc says that it can be a sign of a chromosomal abnormality. The quad test shows neg for down syndrome so that's a relief!!!! They say that with a 2 vessel cord that the baby could possibly be small because of less food/blood from the cord... So far the baby looks above weight for his age at 1 lb already!!
Yes I keep saying a boy... it's a boy!!! The u/s at 17 weeks showed us quite clear... and then the u/s at 19 weeks showed us again... but this very last u/s today, he was a little crammed up and curled up!! Any tips or comments, feel free to leave me a message, I'll try to get back with you soon.

December 14th!
So I got my dates to go to Tripler Hospital in Hawaii. I go the day after Christmas and get back a few days after that. I can't wait to see that he baby is ok. Hopefully they find no heart defects or anything wrong with he kidneys!
I have a doctors appointment next week and I will get all the rest of our travel information... goody another plane ride that's long as hell!! oh well, it's to Hawaii at the very least. The workcenter envy's me and says they want to go to Hawaii and that I am lucky. I mean I'm luck to get to go to "back" to Hawaii for a few days, but not on the best conditions. I will be having tests done. I want to take my hubby to a luau while we are there and he wants to do a few site seeing things... He's never been. I grew up there for a few years when my dad was in the Navy. It will be nice to go back and i'm sure lots has changed!!!
So I still havent gained any weight really... a whole 2 lbs back from the 25 I lost the first few months. My belly is getting pretty big and that makes me excited! I type this stuff at work on my breaks so I really dont have any pics to post here as i am at work. The baby kicks around a bit lately... sometime I get worried I havent felt him in a while and I'll move a round a bit and he will usually kick my once or twice and it's reassuring. It's usually real low that I feel him too... like in my pelvic bone area... so I guess that's just his favorite spot I dont know... My back has been hurting a lot lately... and I'm tired a lot again. Oh and round 2 of the morning sickness... I mean I have had morning sickness all pregnancy and bad at that!!! but I mean it's getting really bad again... to the point that the zofran and reglin are sometimes coming right back up after taking them... I havent changed anything from when I was able to keep it under control... Last night I felt bad, my hubby cooked me dinner... good food too!!! and I was eating it feeling fine, then all of a sudden I had to jump to my feet and run for the bathroom... I unfortunately didn't hold any of dinner down... The baby just decided he didnt like the food I guess??? It's a little annoying though! I mean the doctor isnt worried about me not gaining much weight because the baby is growing fine and you see my belly growing. I love the maternaty pants too!!! i kinda wish i could wear them all the time... I like the elastic instead of all the buttons and zippers and such... :) :) :) oh well... Just keep me preggy and I'll get to wear them all the time right? We want a lot of kids, we just hope that this first pregnancy isnt going to happen again and again... I know each pregnancy is different!
Well now that I've ranted and ranted on, I'll close todays rant... 24 weeks and almost 25!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to post how we first found out we were expecting... not an execptional story, but one to tell at the least... The story of finding out we were expecting Tuesday 24 July- miss period, don't think much of it cuz I am off the meds they had put me on that made me so sick...
Wednesday 25 July- still no period, and decided to take a test for fun... I get a cup out and pee in it. Dunk the test stick and 2 lines appear... One is really light but it's there! I call into bedroom and ask Tony to hurry up and come here... He comes in the bathroom, and I ask him to look at the stick. I ask him "is there really 2 lines on there????" He said he couldn't see, so I yelled at him to go get his glasses on. He comes back a lil more awake and with glasses and looks. "It's real light, but yah I see it" We waited the full 3 mins and the test stick shows a lil bit darker line... 2 lines equal pregnant! Tony says "what does the stick look like before the test because some tests I've seen show the lines very lightly before ever doing the test" I grabbed another test and opened it up and told him "here, look" And there were no lines he said... He then proceeded to do the test with the cup of pee himself... He dunked it in the same cup as the first test, and 2 lines appeared again!! We were psyched!!! But he wanted me to confirm it at the dr's first... I said ok. I went to PT and told everyone the news, and they were very exstatic! I did PT, and went home showered, and was on my way back to work. The rest of the day went by like normal, except I went to the DR. to get the blood test around lunch. I walked in and asked for a pregnancy test. They ordered it, and I went to the lab. The lab said they ordered the wrong one, it's a pee test, well I told them they had to change it. They changed it to the blood. They took my blood and I left. I then went to the office and waited!!!!! The rest of the day went by so slow!! I called the dr. and asked the results, they said they werent in... Now I know the test only takes an hour, so I thought it was a little fishy... I called at the end of the day again to find the same results. I went home. Tony and I had a normal Wed night...
Thursday 26 July- I went to work and called the first thing!!! The results are not in yet they said. I asked why. The answer was that the test goes off base and that they usually didn't come back for a week. I was mad! I told my super who called his friend at the lab to find out what's going on. He found out that they might have ordered the wrong test for me and that the test he thinks, does get sent downtown and that it takes a week... I was mad!!! But I waited and decided to go in first thing on Friday to get the test again... The correct test!!! We received a phone call about a French mission on Friday morning/afternoon that we were all needed... I got a lil upset, but said I would figure it out. We went home and then over to my other supervisors house for dinner. My super asked that we come over for a nice meal as a little thanks to wathcing his dog. After dinner, his wife and I were talking and she asked if I felt different, like I felt pregnant... I told her yah, but I've wanted a child for a long time I was'nt sure if my body wasn't just playing tricks... She said if I feel it, then I proba am.
Friday 27 July- We got to work to find that the mission might be canceled again, and I was going to go to the dr. Then we got another call saying it was on and they needed us like then... So I went out with the rest of the office, and we went to the pax holding room, where we met the 240 plus french people on the plane and held them for like 3 hours!!! They were having probs with fueling the plane... But we finally got them off, which it was 2pm here and I rushed to the dr. and got a blood test again!! This time I made sure they ordered the right test! The took my blood, and I was off back to work. I waited an hour and a half and did oddball things in the office that needed to be done. Then at around 3:30 I called the dr. office to find the results, and the lady asked me all the silly questions of who I am and whatnot... And then she said the words, and I cried! "Yes Ma'am, it's... Positive"... I cried while taking down the notes she gave me, then hung up... Everyone in the office in the room at the time, started shouting for joy and told me congrats and I wiped the tears away and called Tony. I ended up waking him up apparently, but I told him the test was positive and he just started screaming "yay" into the phone... Everyone in the office screamed to him to come in and pick me up!! Tony arrived at the office and we fixed up what we needed done and Tony and I went home, being the proudest parents ever!!! We didn't really celebrate much, I made a few diapers and he played some games, then we went to bed early cuz I was tired! Had been tired for the last week!!! Now we know why!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was the drama of how it happened!!!
Not at all how I thought it would happen and not how I wanted Tony to find out... I had planned a whole scenerio that I tested in private without Tony knowing. Then once I got the for sure that I was from the doctor that I would go out and buy some baby stuff and then leave them around the house for Tony to find and ask why I was buying baby things. Then I would tell him about the test being positive... I was too excited to find out that I just called for Tony and it ended up that way. Oh well, life doesn't always go the way you planned... Life will work its way out the way it wants to.

19 December
I havent been able to hold much of anything absolutely anything down, not even water! It's been like 2 days like this so I called the OB clinic to ask how long I should wait and try to hold down liquids before coming in or what do they want to do... The OB ward told me to come in. I went and saw the OB ward for the first time :) They hooked me up to the fetal monitor and then I heard the baby's heart rate constantly for the next oh 3 hours!!! They hooked me up to an IV so that I can get fluids, but the fluids didnt even really want to go in, so they got a pump and pumped the liquid in... very weird feeling!!! They told me that I could have a viral infection or something like that for maybe that's why even though I'm taking the zofran and reglin and I'm still feeling nauseated and threw up like 4 times that day already...
Well So, after the IV finished and they told me to pee in a cup... The pee was very dark and the first thing they asked me was "have you been drinking any water?" I wanted to strangle them!! I told them I tried but it comes right back up!! They said ok, well we will go run some tests now, just sit tight.
The tests came back and they told me that they were going to treat me for a urinary trackt infection just incase I have one... I'm like you didnt check... I dont think I have one... but whatever... they gave me a pill and told me to pick the rest of the prescription up at the pharmacy tomorrow. They released me... and what do ya know about half an hour after they released me I puked!! gggrrrr.... I did however go see a movie with my DH... He and I got free tix to see "I am Legend" so we went and saw it. There was a nice lady in the bathroom when I had to go in half way thru the movie and puke again cuz she wanted to make sure I was ok and that I needed anything at all she would get it... She was very nice. Anyways... We got home and I layed down and took my vitamins and went straight to bed... so tired and just ready to stop vomiting...

December 20
So I saw the dr.... I had an apt set up for today since a month ago... I went in... found out that I havent gained a thing!! they were a lil concerned at this and they asked about my nausea and trip to the OB ward yesterday. I explained to them what was going on and how I had continued to take the zofran and reglin and such... The doctor then checked the measurment of the uterus and such... she measured me at 26 weeks!! :) She then told me that she wants me to be comfy the last few weeks of pregnancy the best that we can cuz I've not had the best of time with the morning sickness and such... then she told me they are prescribing me a new med... copanzine or something like that... to stop taking the zofran and take the new drug... I was like ok... So this afternoon i take the first dose of it and see if it works... I hope so cuz I want food!!!

I am back from my trip to Tripler Hawaii for the echocardiogram. All it was was an ultrasound done by a pediatrician cardiologist... They were real nice... The baby cooperated and pretty much gave them all the pics they needed. The doctor says that the baby has 2 holes in his heart. That it's completely normal and they are not worried about it. He explained that baby in utero actually is suppose to have 2 small holes in thier heart that helps them till birth. At birth the holes are usually closing up. So he's not worried about it at all. The baby is breach... he said that's nothing to worry about either tho... still time to turn around. My husband was breach being born he tells me, so I suppose it might run in the family. Oh well. OK, so the trip to Hawaii wasnt so great... We got on the bus and got to the Airport, 3 hour drive... Then we had to wait for like 4 hours to get on our plane, then the 8 hour flight... then the wait for our shuttle and then getting to our hotel... Ugh!! long flight and travel there... and then reverse it a day later on our way back!!! it wasnt a very fun trip... At least we found out "good" news right?? Nothing to worry about baby that they are pinging on.
I still can't hold down everything... I have to be real careful on what I eat and when. I take the compazine and the reglin everyday and 3 times a day... and sometimes it still doesnt work... I dont know, and I dont know that their are any more options for me... It's like if I can relax all day and take it easy, more or less munch on small things without having to do much of anything else, then I can hold down my food... This morning I woke up and took pills, and was getting ready for work, had my bowl of cereal and was feeling fine... then the baby started kicking and boom... I had to run to the bathroom and almost didnt make it... it was a mess! all the breakfast right back up... yuck!! I am so hungry but I'm afraid to eat! Next week I go to the doctor for my apt. They say they want to do the glucose test, and I'm not looking foward to it cuz I don't know if I'll be able to hold it down... ugh... I just want to have a healthy baby, but if I cant even hold down food I dont know what the overall outcome will be... I hope everything turns out ok.

Alright, so last week I had run out of the compazine, and so I called to refill the compazine and reglin... well the prescription was cancelled!! I was like whoa!! So Tony and I ran in and figured we would talk to the OB and find out what was going on. We went to the pharmacy first to see if they had any meds for us at all and they wanted to give us the zofran... Tony and I then went to the OB office. The Dr. we normally see (Dr. F) came out to talk to us. She asked us who we saw last time and when we started taking the compazine... I told her who we saw last time (Dr. Y) and that that doc told us that she had talked to Dr. F and that she cleared it to give us the new meds... Dr. F (our normal doc) she, she said she never talked to Dr. Y and that she doenst really want me on the compazine and asked why we changed it. I told her how I had started to not be able to keep food down again and so Dr. F told me I'm like out of options and that maybe I need a "drug holiday". She said we can try the zofran and reglin again and that is what she suggests... So we went to the pharmacy to pick up the zofran and reglin... I am on them again. Tony and I just didnt like the fact that the doc's dont seem to talk to eachother and we def dont like the new doc we saw last time... Dr. Y kept saying she was going to talk to Dr. F and see what she said since we had seen her most of the time.
Well so we are back on the Zofran and reglin and it worked for a whole 2 days and now it's not so potent i suppose is the best way to say it. I take it and I still get sick... I dont know... I know there's nothing else to do.
I also have a slight problem with sleeping. Having a hard time sleeping thru the night and I also seem to have some restless legs that keep me up cuz they want to move. I'll wake up in the middle of the night and pee, then can't get back to bed. I dont know whether not sleeping very well also plays a role in the nausea during the day either. My thought is if I can sleep thru the night and not worry about waking up with an alarm clock, I'd prob be better off and have less problems with nausea during the day...

February 12, 2008
Ok, so I saw the doc last week, and they told me that the baby was still breech. If the baby is breech next appointment, that they would try the manual turn thing. We talked about my birth plan and the only thing that she said was I cant have the baby both on my stomach and wait till the cord stops pulsating... it's one or the other because if the baby is above the cord then blood will flow out of baby into the placenta... I decided to have the baby on my stomach and not wait for the cord to stop pulsating. Other than that, the birth plan looked great she said!
The doc measured me at a week and a half ahead of what they say I am... and I am going for a growth scan not only for that, but for the fact that I have the 2 vessel cord.
Yesterday I went for the growth scan and it looks like the baby is right on target on like everything. Weighing in at 4 lbs and 4 oz says the machine... In fact, the first thing we noticed when the scan was started was that the baby had turned around and is indeed head down!!!!!!! he's in the perfect position for birth!!! Hopefully he stays that way!
Also I start to get my non-stress test bi weekly now... every Monday and Thursday afternoon I go and listen to my baby's heart beat and am assured he is ok!!! I get out of work to do it too!!! it's nice cuz I can nap while it's done!!! :)
I'm glad everything is looking good. I'm just ready for him to be born tho!!
I'm tired, and achy... ready for the baby to be born!!!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well havent posted in a little while so here goes. I had a dr. apt on 20 Feb and the midwife said that all was well and that I was measuring right on target. They are going to monitor my blood pressure because it's been borderline high lately at each NST I go to, but they arent really worried that much, just going to watch it. I was told that the last ultrasound the baby was growing great! Was told to drink lots of water and let them know of swelling yada yada yada usual precaution stuff...
That next Sat I had some discharge and the L&D had me come in and get it checked out. hooked me up to the NST and they told me that I was having contractions every like 3 minutes... I wasnt feeling anything!!!! well anyways, so they had me drink 2 pitchers of water, still having contractions so they decided to give me an iv... well still having contractions... Theydid a "pap" to check any fluids that might be there to check for any infections and told me I'm still tight and closed and that all looked normal after the tests came back. The only thing they mentioned was that my vj was a lil enflamed and that they didnt see any yeast cells but I might have a beggining of a yeast infection. Well anyways, the contractions were still there after the IV, and so they decided they wanted a urine sample... but they wanted to give me a catheter to get the sample... So that's what they did... and well the pee came out clear as can be, and they told me "your pee should always look this color" and I was like "it usually does!!!" and then they ran tests and came back that there were red blood cells in the urine but the urinalysis came back good and no infections or anything... So with that, they gave me a shot of terbutuline to stop the contractions and then released me saying taht I was good to go...
Let's see... So that leads us up to my NST on the 28 Feb. I went in and had 2 contractions that they told me of, and I didnt feel them either, but since they were spuratic and not constant they didnt worry about them. The doc came in and checked my cervix just to see if I had dialated and opened up any... still no change closed and tight was what I was told... and so that being said, she had me do the normal NST and then told me to make an Ultrasound apt for the next week for a growth check and see the kidneys since we had seen in earlier U/S that they were larger... and so we went to get thta scheduled.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 4
Went for the U/S today and the technician said the baby is perfect delivering position... he has his head down and to my back! and so he took measurments and told me that the kidneys were still off, and the bladder was full the whole time... We tried to wait to see if the baby would empty his bladder and he didnt unfortunately... but anyways, the tech said that he thought the amnionic fluid looked a little low, but he really cant say anything that it's up to the OB's... So that being said, he took all the measurments he could and told me that the baby was weighing in at a good 6 lbs 1 oz... Which puts baby just about right on tract. I'm 36 weeks today, so that's about right. I'm waiting for my dr. apt on Thursday now to see what the OB's have to say about the low AFl and so on now... My husband tells me he thinks the baby is going to be late in arrival and a good 9 1/2 lbs baby... I told him he better not be!!!! I am pretty much ready to have this baby and he better not be over 8 lbs... lol... :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 6
Went in for my NST and the nurse there was different then we normally get... She's real nice tho. They hook me up and Tony and I think the baby looks fine! just as he normally looks on the screens. :) The nurse came in tho and said they wanted me to drink and change positions blah blah blah cuz they arent getting the "peaks" they want to see... I do as they say, but the nurse basically wanted the heart to be pretty "flat" then raise for 15 beats for 15 seconds and then gradually go back to the "flat" heart beat... I'm like yah right, he's never like that unless he's sleeping, and he's not sleeping! especially with all the sugar you just had me drink... lol. She also mentions that we are there for not only the 2 vessel cord but also the low amniotic fluid and they need to make sure the baby is moving ok and reacting blah blah blah... SoI do as the nurse says but we also tell her of our OB appointment downstairs in like half an hour. She's like "oh i almost forgot you told me about that, let me go call them, they might come up here and test you some more cuz we arent getting the results we want" and she dissapears... She comes back and tells us we can go downstairs to the doc and that we might be comming back up to see her soon. We say ok, nod our heads and go to the dr. apt.
We get to our dr. apt and the dr says everything looks good and that the NST looks absolutely great! I mention to her what the nurse upstairs was saying and ask her about the results of the u/s the other day and that the nurse said low amniotic fluid... The dr. then says that I'm on the low end of normal, but still normal amniotic fluid and she doesnt know why the nurses are telling me anything and she is going to go talk to them blah blah blah... She tells me that the baby seems fine and that I am to go weekly for an u/s to check on everything... I am like ok then, so we leave the dr. apt.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 11
Had my U/S today... baby still has a full bladder and enlarged kidney... The tech said the amniotic fluid is still a lil low to his standards and I asked that we can stay a lil longer on the machine to see if we can wait for baby to empty his bladder. The tech tells me that he already planned on it and that we would spot check for a while and see if we can catch him empty. Well after about a half hour of being on monitor and then 30 mins of spot checking with me walking around and waiting, the tech went to get the radiologist. The radiologist came in and wanted to see the u/s for himself instead of just pics... so the radiologist saw the full bladder that has been full for over an hour by now, and says he still agrees that the amniotic fluid is low... they cant see if there is an obstruction in the kidney or bladder but the good news is that the bladder and the kidneys have to be working cuz each and every u/s the bladder and kidneys are not any better but also not any worse so they have to be working. About 10 more mins of u/s and then the radiologist leaves and the tech tells me the stats... the amniotic fluid according to the machine is 7.4. The baby's weight is 6lbs 10 oz. and the due date it calculated is a week behind my actual due date, so to mean the baby is behind in growth or just smaller... but anyways, we will be awaiting the results from the OB on Thursday when I have my weekly appointment.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 13
OK, so had my NST, all is well. Then went to the Dr. Apt. Saw the new doctor and he's very nice but very front up... He told us that everything looks good and he didnt bother to check my belly size or anything cuz of the u/s on Tues. Also he told us that he will not look at a birht plan. He thinks it is great that we have a plan, but nothing will go as planned and so he doenst look at them. He told us that because of the amnio fluid, that he wants to do an amnio fluid check on Monday after my NST. So we asked many questions concerning the health of our baby with the dialated kidney and such. He said that everything should be fine and that the Pediatrician will be there right after delivery.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 17
Went for my normal NST. Baby is great! moving around like crazy!! Went downstairs for the AFI check... the Dr. was very in a rush at first it seems like... He sends us in the u/s room and I am sitting down. He comes in saying "you are all set up for the 25th to be induced.... blah blah blah" I didnt even hear whatelse he said... I was very shocked and flaberghasted. I asked "what????" and he said "oh they didnt tell you?" I was like no!!! and he explains that with all the complications and that I will be 39 weeks on Tuesday he wants to induce to help me and baby. He thinks it's best to be induced and get the baby out. He was very adiment about it. Tony asked if we could go to April 1 and then get induced but the dr. said yes BUT he doenst suggest it. So He said we have till Thursday to decide at my next appointment.
Tony and I discussed it and we figure Dr. knows best and if they think it's necessary to induce then we will induce. I will have baby on 25 or 26 March. We get induced early on Tues. We find out the rest of the info on the next appointment on Thursday.
