06-11-2008 - Baby # 2 Scare

My mood while writing this blog: anxious, and worried!!

So on the 5th of November I had my first appointment with the midwife! She was very nice! I like her alot!!! We talked and talked and she was very personable and very informative and knowledgable! Well according to my LMP which was 14 August, I should be about 12 weeks along at this point! Well the nurse did the pap and palpations and said that she feels that my uterus is showing 10-12 weeks as we think... Well no heartbeat found on the doppler, so they decide to grab the portable u/s machine. Well they bring in this ancient almost 40 year old one. (my hubby knows quite a bit about sonagram machines so he could tell how old it was) Well they try to go on the tummy and move around very very fast, and I think I see 2 sacs at first, then I see a sac with a bean in it briefly, but the midwife just scrolls around fast and kinda points to the bean and says that I might be a bit earlier than we thought. She tries the vaginal u/s and I am not able to see anything, but she says that she didnt see anything but it's not to say that I'm just about 6-8 weeks and the baby is hard to find with the old machine. So that being said, I am a bit worried at this and they try to assure me that I'm probably just earlier than we think. So we rework some math that if I am only say 7 weeks, that I would have concieved approx the mid-end of Sept, which would match up with my positive pregnancy tests. So I am very nervous to know that this is a healthy pregnancy!!!! They set me up and told me they were setting me to see the u/s clinic next door to do a big u/s with the top machines. Well to make that a short story I am not scheduled till Friday morning, the 7th. So fun fun right?? I've been a nervous wreck since the appt and can't wait to see my bean in there with a heartbeat hopefully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so worried that I mis miscarried or something, or that there is a problem!! I know I shouldnt think that, but I do, because it's possibilities!! I hope everything is ok!!! Well, I'll post more when I find out. I do like my midwife tho! She is very willing to let me try a VBAC which makes me very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
