18-8-2009 - Updates on Trystian and Atreyu

My mood while writing this blog: Happy

So just to catch up on the last 8 weeks of life… Trystian is now walking pretty much ALL THE TIME, if he’s not walking he is running!!! He is getting very daring!!! We go to the zoo pretty much at least once a week!! Trystian loves the zoo!!! His favorite so far has been the sea lions!! He likes to watch them swim, then call them a “cat”… we watched the show at the zoo, and the sea lion “talked” and of course doesn’t sound like a cat, so Trystian now thinks they are dogs!! His next favorite is probably the bears!!! Yes, we went to visit the bears at feeding time… The bear came right up to the glass and “nudged” Trystian… The bear could have gone to any of the other MANY people gathered around the 12+feet of glass… Well then we went to the other bear exhibit, they weren’t eating, and the black bear on the other side of the exhibit stopped what it was doing, came all the way over to the glass and sat in front of Trystian, looking at him!! I dunno what is with Trystian and bears, but he must have been one in a past life!!

Atreyu is doing great!! He is growing rapidly!!! We have pretty much been doing a formula by day, breast milk by night thing lately… Altho we are coming to the problem that he won’t take a bottle with breastmilk in it, but he will take a bottle of formula—warm formula—just fine!! I am doing some research and trying to figure out why this might be… I have a small hunch that I might have an enzyme in my milk that makes it break up faster than normal and so it sours faster… This means that if this is the case, then why bother pump and save the formula, when he wont drink it, or it’s bad… HHHRRRRMMMM…. One thing right after another right??? First off, breastfeeding was great!! I loved the feeling knowing that he was thriving on me alone… Yes, slowely he was gaining weight, which means he was getting enough!!! But we had to start bottle because of me going back to work, and then formula because I cant pump enough, and now that he is not likeing the breastmilk, I dunno what to do… Oh well I will think of something pretty soon I’m sure!!...

Other than that, Atreyu is doing good, he is able to lift his head and hold it, he is trying to roll over, he is smiling!!, he is cooing, and talking… He is great!!! He is also very long!!, his body is long that is! He can fit in the 0-3 months great right now, but some of the onsies are being stretched a bit because he is so long! He is skinny, but is gaining weight just fine. He is getting 1 roll on his legs, other than that he’s pretty skinny!! His feet are so cute!! His hair is doing pretty good at being “trained” at being curly and sticking up a bit… lol… After his bath when it is drying, its so cute when it sticks up and is curled!!! After a day tho, it settles back down on his head, except for a few pieces in the middle of the head that stick straight up and give him a mini mo-hawk!!

Trystian is very moody lately!! He is really testing us!! He does this screaming thing to get his way and attention! I have tried not to give into him as I know it’s just him testing us… We go to the restauraunt tho and he will throw a fit like that, and not want to eat, throw his food and such… The best we can do is to take him outside and let him scream in the car… I’m thinking that if he does that, we might just have to all leave all together to get the point across that it’s unacceptable to do such, because when we are in the car and he settles down we talk and then go back in the restauraunt and “attempt” to eat again and he will do the same thing… So maybe just going home at the onset of the tantrum and letting him scream to the top of his lungs will be the only thing to stop them eventually??? I dunno, it’s a learning experience and we will have to see what works best for Trystian and us…

All is well tho, so I will close for now as I don’t have much time on the computer, and cant really sit and blog and tell everything,, as much as I really want to!!!
