22-5-2009 - My trip to the ER (last night)

Well I ended up in the ER last night due to dehydration. I had a very bad headache (which I still have it, but it's not as bad) dizziness, nausea, hot & cold sweats... I was pretty much miserable!

I took a shower thinking that would help me feel alittle better-well I just barely got out in time to pass out on the floor w/out falling. I laid there for about 15 min or so w/ my head in the trash can. I was finally able to get up to get my roomie to take me to the hospital. She dropped me off-it took about 10 min for them to get me in and to a room. The doctor was a jerk-but he took care of me. One of my nurses was adorable-she was 20 weeks pregnant-and couldn't help me sit up because of it! haha

She got my IV in, took some blood and I was on my way to feeling better. They gave me valium, tylenol & meclazine. I was there for a couple of hours just getting rehydrated. They did a CT scan-They didn't tell me about it or why we were doing it-but we did it anyway, I had 2 shields on so the baby was safe. since the baby is fully formed but just a mini baby right now-I wasn't worried about anything happening to it.

I have to take meclazine every 8 hours for dizziness-so that means no driving which means no school :-( oh well I'm ahead anyway so it's ok. I'm just trying to rest today-probably about time for another nap here soon!

But for now baby and I are both just fine, we just had a little scare last night and now we are doing much better!

Thanx you guys! I've been in and out of sleep all day-I feel really drugged up, but the good thing is that i'm acually sleeping! i don't think i've had a good nights sleep since i became pregnant! I've need it! Ive only been up for a little over an hour and I'm ready to go back to sleep-i have another couple of pills to take at 9 so i'm going to try to keep myself awake until then-which is really hard since i have to force myself to sit up-id rather be laying down! i'll keep everyone posted!

Eeek...I'm sorry to hear you are going through such awful morning sickness. I was in the same boat as you up until about a week and a half ago. I was in the hospital every week for dehydration and it got so bad that my Doctor was talking about inserting a port into me so that I could give my self nutrients. Anyways at the end of my 13th week I woke up and felt completely better....it was actually scary how much better I felt. So, hopefully you will be like me an lose this icky morning sickness by week 14. Good luck!!
