09-7-2009 - This is long and probably boring to you guys, but I need to ramble... anxious, scared, tired, freaking out... all kinds of moods... My mood while writing this blog:
anxious, scared, tired, freaking out... all kinds of moods...

So I might be freaking about nothing really because it will all eventually get done... but I'm still freaking out none the less.

Today is the 9th of July... as of August 31st, 2009 we have to be moved out of my apartment. That gives us 7 weeks... not enough time in my mind and now I'll start telling you why.

We plan to have a yard sale August 1st to get rid of all of our accumulated junk and get some more money as well. Problem is neither of us has even begun to go through anything but clothes. We have 2 storage units and 2 places to go remove clutter from. And we have a lot of crap! How we got all of this I just don't know since my place felt empty when we moved into this very tiny apartment 2 years ago.

We were hoping to be moved by the middle of August because we have to replace the carpeting in my apartment, thanks to that sweet little puppy of ours. And I refuse to let my landlord keep $1200 for carpet that is only going to cost us about $300 to replace.

But at this point we still have quite a lot to do in his place. It has come along very nicely; he and his guy have been busting their butts over there lately. BUT we still need the hot water heater (which is apparently being bought by a couple friends as a baby gift for us, but these friends are HUGE procrastinators and we're a little worried), a new toilet, a kitchen sink (which we can't pick out or buy until the plumber comes and checks the water pressure to make sure the sink he wants will work there and he hasn't called the plumber yet!!!!), a new flue for the wood stove, and we also need about $2000 in finishing wood for the custom cabinetry they are building.

They also need to finish putting up the dry wall in the kitchen, living room and hallway. Once all of this is in we paint every room and stain all the wood! And after we paint they will be laying carpet in the 2 bedrooms and laminate flooring through the hallway and living room, along with tile in the entry way. Granted, the master bedroom is almost complete aside from carpeting. They built the closet last weekend and are putting all the wall shelves up this week. So I am hoping that I can go in there and paint next Friday so that all that room needs is carpet.

The baby’s room doesn’t really need much in the way of work other than paint, new carpet and some type of an organizational unit installed in the closet. So I’m hoping he will let me paint that room next Friday too, but right now it’s basically storage so the rest of his place can be completely empty while they work. But if they’re just going to scuff up all the walls putting stuff back in there for storage than I won’t paint yet. AND we still have to set up an appointment for the new carpet to be installed in my apartment once we’re out of there… which I can’t schedule until we know when we’re moving.

So am I crazy or is this a whole lot to do in the next 5 to 6 weeks, 7 at the most. And if it’s going to be 7 weeks than I don’t get the time to replace the carpet in my place and there goes $1200 that we could really use right now since we also need new living room furniture. I mean we really need it. The couch cushions have cardboard under them because the springs were coming up through the fabric and we didn’t want to bother getting new stuff until we moved out of my apartment. We weren’t counting on a baby being part of our move at that time; a lot has changed for us this year. And I have to help my work move to our new offices sometime over a weekend in August…

So

We’re supposed to go see a friend’s art sale in Maryland in 2 weeks

~ yard sale is in 3 weeks

~ I have a baby shower to go to in 4 weeks

~ my birthday is in 5 weeks

~ my shower is in 6 weeks (and if his "our" place isn’t ready it all goes right to storage L)

~ we have to be out of my place in 7 weeks at most

~ his 30th birthday is in about 9 weeks

Then we have about 6 weeks to be completely ready for baby to arrive and s/he could be there earlier than we’re expecting

BUT WAIT! It doesn’t stop there!! Do I have you laughing at me or crying for me yet? If you’re even still reading this…

4 weeks after baby is due will be Thanksgiving

4 weeks after that will be Christmas

and then a few days after Christmas, around the 27th of December, we will be heading out for a 3 week trip to California. We will be going up and down the Northern Coast visiting all of his family out there and my Dad and his family so they can all meet the little one while I'm on leave instead of using vacation time. Then we’ll head down to Southern California so we can spend a week or so with his Mom and her family. Then we’ll head back home just in time for me to enjoy 1 last week before I have to come back to this crappy job I don’t care for… and that last week for me to enjoy is based on the fact that I go into labor at the end of October rather than the beginning or the middle… I’m feeling ready to lose it…

AND I have no idea where we're getting the money for ALL of this...

Thanks for letting me vent ladies, even if nobody reads this I feel slightly better getting it all off my chest and not flipping out on Tyrus about any of it.

Oh, BABYBAKER! I wish I read this earlier, but I wanted to make sure I got through the WHOLE thing... LOL! I know you've been worried about this and the "time line" for a while. You need to remember that a lot of this is out of your hands, worrying will not change the situation. I think you need a spa day to relax, if I were there I'd take you... but then again you'd probably be worrying that you should be getting some work done, haha! You have to look at the big picture... don't think weeks think months... there are still 4 until the baby comes. Yes it will go by fast, but either way you look at it, it's 4 months (we're talking the end of October, maybe even into November) and that's still a long ways away! Things like you're guys B-Days will just have to take the back seat for a while, so don't worry about that! Don't be afraid to ask people for help too! Have you talked to Ty about how stressed you are? Maybe he will be able to tell you he's got this and calm your nerves a bit??

Awwww girly...I am so sorry that you are stressed out! You do have a ton going on, but it is all good stuff at least. I agree with the other ladies....you need to just make a list of what needs to be accomplished every week. Then only look at that weeks worth of stuff so that you aren't overwhelmed. Please let me know if we can help with anything! We have a lot of stuff coming up too, but we would be glad to chip in. Let me know :)

First you may need to have more than one yard sale because you will do alot of work to get stuff organized for it !Then whatever you do not get rid of dont keep!!!Bag it up and take it to Good Will or Salvation Army and donate it then you can claim whatever you think it is worth on your 09 taxes -that will help next year anyway! I guess I always feel better when I can get rid of stuff! My other advice would be see what Needs to be done in order for you to move in and get that done first and just finish up and live around the mess til it gets finished.it doesn't sound great but it will get better before you knowit!

Holy moly baby bake!!! I would definitely recruit some friends to help you whenever possible for painting or packing or whatever. That's what we do. We bribe them with food and that usually works! lol And I agree with others - if you push yourself too hard and keep too much stress on yourself then you are going to have this baby early! And by the look of your list, that is the last thing that you need!! :)

Ho-ly crap. When you detail everything out like this - no wonder you're overwhelmed. Just take things one step at a time. If you're like me - when things need to get done, you want them done right then. But you know what? Even if you don't get to finish everything you wanted to - it'll still work out. Like my husband told me - the baby's not going to care if the room is painted or not. As much as I WANT it painted before he gets here - if we don't get to it ...we don't get to it. What I always do when I have a ton of things to get done is make a list. And then I tackle one thing at a time, and it makes me feel so much better every time I get to cross something off the list. I know it must be hard, but try not to stress, hon. Hopefully you feel a little better letting it all out. We're here to listen.

You remind me of myself! When there are things to be done-that is all you can think about and you want it done and done now!! But take a deep breath and count to 10 (even if you dont think that you have time!) It will all get done and work out in the end..and if it doesnt just remember the most important thing is forsure going to happen-and that is bringing your baby into the world!! then the rest of it will fall into place in time! But the best piece of advise I can give you is take it one step at a time and one thing at a time-dont try and tackle it all now and by your self!! Best of luck honey and we are here for you to vent anytime!!

Wow, it does sound like a lot is going on, but I also notice that you are putting 100% of the pressure on yourself-- remember, you have help. Perhaps communicate to your loved ones about your worries, and delegate what you can handle, and where someone could help you. You're pregnant, and no one will want you to be as stressed as it seems you are. Take advantage of the help that's there for you and communicate your feelings!! That's the best advice I can give... believe me, it's easy to get overwhelmed with this kind of stuff, let alone the stress of growing a baby :)

Wow girly! Its a slow day at work and I'm glad because I was able to get threw all that! lol but geez I dont even know what to say! Like you said I dont know whether to cry for you or laugh! I really hope you can knock it all out in time. And as far as Christmas and all that being around the corner from the baby....just breathe! Thats a whole nother situation. Sorry I couldn't really help, but I hope everything works out for you!

aileenc0 - Thursday, 9 Jul
You're gonna end up having this baby early if you don't calm down you sound totally stressed. you need to just take things one thing at a time and try not to think of it all at the one time. It does seem like an awful lot of work to do but really at the end of the day. you can only do what you can do. Getting stressed is not going to make things happen any faster. you've got a good guy there who sounds like he's doing all he can to get things done. and these things do all tend to fall into place. Try not to worry toomuch

All I can say is HOLY COW!! LOL! You have A LOT going on!! Good luck!! :)
