26-8-2009 - Just a long update Nauseous but Happy! My mood while writing this blog:
Nauseous but Happy!

For your reading pleasure…

Finally I’m not complaining… I think anyway…

So my baby shower was on Saturday. It was wonderful! There were so many friends and family and it was so nice to have all of them share in this with me. Since most of his family is in California it was basically just my family and friends there, there was one friend of his but she is just as much a friend of mine at this point and I don’t think of her as “his” friend. We got so much stuff! I am feeling so much better about this baby coming now. We have a lot of necessities and some non-necessities as well. All we need now is the travel system, more specifically the car seat, but it’s a set. We should have that in the next couple weeks so I’m not worried about getting that at all! But we have bottles, clothes, toys, diapers, wipes, a monitor and so much more. We also have a great library going for this baby already! The invitations asked everyone to bring a book with their gift so we would have a little library ready for baby! I think there were about 45 people at the shower so obviously we’ve got a lot of books and surprisingly there were no doubles! I think we’ll need a few more newborn size clothing and some warmer items but that’s okay. I got a few gift cards and my Mom and Sister plan on leaving the hospital and going shopping for gender specific clothing immediately. Plus Christmas is right around the corner from all of our babies coming so that means more stuff! LOL! I’m hoping Christmas brings us clothing and not much more because I honestly don’t think we’ll need much more at that point, other than some fun toys! And I would like to buy some fun stuff for my little one! J

His family is planning on throwing us another shower when we head to California to see all of them while I’m on maternity leave. We’ll probably head out there not long after Christmas but we can’t really schedule that until the baby comes. I believe baby has to be 8 weeks old to fly… and as much as I don’t want to put this little one on a plane right away I would prefer that over a 3 day train ride or a 4 to 5 day car ride. His Grandma is too old to travel so we have to go there to see her and I don’t get a lot of vacation time so that’s why we’re rushing to do it while I’m out for those 12 weeks.

My Mom did buy us a crib but it is not the one I wanted so we are going to take that back and use that money to get the travel system. We won’t actually need a crib for a few months and we don’t have a nursery to put one in right now anyway so I’m perfectly fine with waiting on that item. We will most likely go get the crib around Christmas when his place is actually done. And my Mom has my glider and ottoman already picked out and ready to order when I give the okay!

Speaking of his place, it really is coming along well. I’m pretty sure you are all aware that I would prefer to be in there and done with all of this already but I can’t push it anymore than I have. I think I also need to make everyone aware that Ty really is busting his butt to get ready for this baby too. I know I complain a lot but he is incredible and I am thankful for him (almost hee hee) every day! He does a lot of tree work in the week days; he also does a paper route pretty much every night so he does that from 2:15 am to almost 5:00 am, and then he goes to work on his place for a few hours each day if he can too. Aside from all that he also pays for a Jiu Jitsu class which he has 6 days a week… a couple hours each night and on Saturday. He has been skipping classes a couple nights a week and I hate for him to have to do that. He loves that class and is a fitness fanatic anyway. He hasn’t been to the gym in months and now with skipping class he’s feeling like a lump in his fitness area. AND while all of this is going on we’re also trying to spend some time with his Grandma. She was given 3 to 6 months to live, due to congestive heart failure, a couple of weeks ago and as much as she seems to hate us any time we go to see her, we still try. It is his Grandma after all. His brother Aaron is currently staying with her and dealing with the brunt of taking care of her, but he is also trying to get his work visa together to go work in China. So really we’re trying to see both of them while we can. Aaron just returned from South Korea a few months ago and he was there for about 5 years. So we don’t imagine he’ll be rushing back from China after he leaves therefore Ty wants to see him while he can too. I don’t know how we’ll manage taking care of his Grandma after his brother leaves again but we’ll figure something out… We’re the only real family around here for her aside from Tys’s Dad and he won’t be willing to do anything when it comes to taking care of her. It would be easier if she didn’t act like she hated the sight of us, me especially and it’s only gotten worse since I’ve started showing, but we will still do whatever she needs. I do hope she is around to meet this baby. It’s only her 2nd great grandchild and the other one lives pretty far away so she doesn’t get to see her much. I will never expect any appreciation from her for what we do, that’s just the way she is. Her son and her grandsons are useless in her eyes and only her daughters and granddaughters are worth something to her. Which is quite a sad outlook if you ask me since everyone she does appreciate lives at least 6 hours away… and there is a reason for them all moving away. Her!

Anyway, so thanks for reading if you really made it through all of this reading. I guess I just wanted everyone to know that I’m feeling much less stressed these days finally and that my Tyrus is really a great guy who is doing everything he can! No matter how much I complain about him I do love him, he loves me and I know he’s working hard and is also just as stressed as I was…

I hope everyone is feeling good and enjoying getting ready for these babies, pregnancy, BDing, life in general and/or the little ones you’ve recently had!

Only 63 days left! WOO HOO!!! I cannot wait to meet this little person!

Silly billy, dont worry - we all know that complaining is just part of our nature right now, nothing can ever be good enough for us, i've done my fair share (or more) of complaining about Neil. Ty sounds like a really great guy, else you wouldn't be with him or having his baby for that matter.Cool, another babyshower, more presents......YEAH!!!Thats always the case about old people hey....they love the ones that do the least for them. So sad, but thats really nice that you guys are looking after her!You sound a whole lot more relaxed now....keep smiling :-)

What a sigh of relief everything has become for you- all at the last moment but non the less you deserve to relax. What a busy boy you have on your hands though, uh? I'm sorry to hear about Ty's Grandma though. Hopefully she'll be around to meet the baby and get some pictures in!

What a great blog! I can tell you're in much better spirits now! It seems like everything's coming together, too. I'm sorry about Ty's grandma. That has to be really stressful to do everything you can for her and have her not appreciate it. Know that what you're doing for her is important, and even if she doesn't seem to appreciate it, you really are a blessing in her life! You're appreciated by the rest of the family, and by Ty, for your efforts, I'm sure! Yippee to 63 days! I can't believe we'll be mommies so soon! :)

Awww - you're feeling nauseous? First off, I hope you feel better soon! Secondly - I absolutely LOVED the "bring a book" idea on the invitations. That is really cool, and now you have a great start on your baby's library! I had no idea babies had to be 8 weeks to fly. Good to know though. We're planning to visit my parents in Florida around Christmas time...and I didn't really want to do a long car drive...but maybe we'll have to depending on when exactly we decide to go! It sounds like Ty is really busting his butt...and I'm sure you do appreciate it. I mean, this baby was a surprise for both of you - and to get everything done that you guys have gotten done in these (seemingly) short 9 months is a big accomplishment!! Oh and P.S. - Paul has a brother named Aaron too. : )
