| 16-9-2008 - Hurricane Ike pt 3 | My mood while writing this blog:annoyed |
so i been without power since friday. fema aint really helping. luckily there was a cold front that came in 2days ago. no food. hardly any water. came to moms job to get out the house. luckily there was internet. im starving. i look like i lost weight. and sat i was looking for food bc i was sooo hungry. and the baby wouldn't stop moving. i feel like a horrible parent. i cant even come across food. or water. and bc i have a urinary infection i dont wanna drink any soda. gas has gone up about +20cents. when i can i'll upload pics of all the damages done around houston. omg the wind was blowing so hard i could feel my house rumbling!! trees were rooted out of the ground. the wind is what was bad. but then sat. night there was a thunder storm that flooded houston. so that put a huge delay on reconstructing the city. i couldn't believe how bad the damages around houston were. the ceiling in my house caved in the front bedroom. but alot of peoples houses were destroyed. galveston island is trashed. crystal beach in galveston is wiped out. no homes were left on crystal beach. its just sand now. alligators are walking around the island. theres a loose lion too. before the storm hit the island was flooded just from the tide. friday afternoon before the storm hit the streets in galveston had atleast 2ft of water. in peoples homes and hours before the eye made landfall the galveston courthouse had 6ft of water in it. its crazy. we went to a corner store that was opened and the owners closed early and a riot practically broke out from people who wanted to get in. its unbelievable. my moms job in downtown just ordered about 100oxes of new york style pizza. i had 4 slices. it was soooo good.
just some local stations/newspaper that have been covering the storm if anyone is interested:
