| 02-2-2011 - Ryan and the 4 month awakening... | My mood while writing this blog:tired |
My dear sweet son has made it to the dreaded 4th month awakening. I slightly remember Autumn going through this. Ryan is teething on top of it, The drool that come from this child is insane! Need a pool filled? Ryan is a good baby and by no means a screamer...but by 6:30 at night he is fussing and crying like its nobodys business. He had better have all of the attention or her will let you know of his discontentment. His nap hours and poop schedule are changing too. Wakes up at 5am with a dirty diaper, up till 7-8am then down till 10 afternoon nap 12-2. We tried starting him on babyfood and cereal from a spoon but he want nothing to do with it. Autumn was already feeding from a spoon at this point and eating like she had never been fed. We have started him on a modified bottle (transition to nuby/sippy cup) he does not seem to mind that. It has handles and he holds it himself which is nice. He just starting to come into his own and getting quite a personality. He loves to smile and laugh. He LOVES when Autumn plays with him and makes faces at him. They were laughing at each other about 2 days ago...man did she have him going. I had to make her stop just so he could take a breather! Another little fun tid bit about our day...I LOVE getting him dressed...oh my goodness he laughs the whole time and loves being naked! He is a sweet, lovey little man. Mike says he thinks Ryan is an old soul. Like he's been here before and just enjoying every minute of being here. He more like a little man then a baby.
Autumn, my baby girl is going to be 3 on the 15th of this month. I am so sad but also super proud of her. We took her to the doctor last week (NOT FUN) just for her 3 year check up...a little early but I took what I could get. She is 3'6" and 35lbs! She is the everage weight and height of a 4 year old! She went from being super tiny to being big for her age. We also thought her speech was delayed...she didn't say a word up until we brought Ryan home. she was just over 2 and a half and was not speaking a lick! Well she knows her ABC's, can count to 13, knows her colors and shapes. Sings "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Itsy Bitsy" ...every blessed word! She went from saying nothing to speaking in full sentences over night....it was really bizzare. We always knew she was observing, clearly she was because she started saying things and my husband and i would look at each other like "where in the world did she learn that"?!!! Autumn is all new to the world, has to try everything once, she is all trial and error. Very spirited and wants to see and do everything....she has no fear!
I am really praying that this little funk I am in will be short lived. It has been so cold and the weather has just been down right crappy. I have horrible cabin fever...i want out! I love the winter but I am ready for some warm weather to move in. I miss the beach and watching the boats in the marina. I can't wait to start walking the kids down to the park and enjoying warm afternoons in the grass. Hopefully things will start to change soon. Hey according to Punxsutawny Phil we should have an immediate Spring! (yeah right, as I am looking out at the dingy piles of snow on our street)..oh well!
