10-12-2008 - I GOT TO HEAR THE HEARTBEAT FOR THE FIRST TIME!!

My mood while writing this blog:
on cloud 9!!

so today was my 11 week checkup...i guess you could say PAP SMEAR!!! ugh. i already knew that it was going to hurt because to me a pap always does...not to mention me and the hubby haven't had fun for a few nights now. well when i went in...they checked my weight...finally gained all the weight i had lost back. so i'm now back at 130. and feeling a lot better. and of course the vital nurse asked me about depression, i laughed and said a little bit in the last week or so because my hormones hit a ultimate high in the last couple of days. and they always ask me if i feel safe in my home...i guess that is part of going to army docs but who knows.

i sit in the room [[mind you the is the first time i've met my doctor as well]] waiting for my doc to come in and i'm nervous to meet him. he asks me a few questions and says so i noticed you haven't heard the heartbeat so we are going to do that first and then the pap. overjoyed i hop on the little bed thingy [[sorry forgot what its called lol]] and get ready for the cold gel they put on you.

at first he couldn't find the heartbeat and that made me nervous. and i was very quick to tell him that it did. he said don't worry if we can't find it with this we will do an ultrasound. not even 30 seconds later [[felt like a lifetime]] he found my little bugger...i've never heard something beat that fast...my heartbeat almost drown out the babys...but it was going strong at 160 BPM....ahhh i'm gonna be a mommy. and i think i just realized that this is a big journey i'm heading on....and its becoming more and more real to me as i get further along.

i was so happy i kept laughing and was trying to stop cause everytime i would move you wouldn't be able to hear it. i'm on cloud 9 right now. and i don't think that there is anything else i want for christmas other than to wish for a happy healthy baby in june. [[except for my hubby to be home for christmas..but ehh i'm glad he is doing what other men are too chicken to do]].

just had to put this down...cause i was too happy!!

That is wonderful!! Congratulations!! I still haven't heard mine yet! (Dr did an US last time instead of heart beat!) but my appt is the 16th so I am sure I'll get to hear it!!

Aww. That's so exciting. It's amazing isn't it? I hope your hubby will be back for Christmas too. I totally know what that is like. At least I know that I'm not the only preggo mama alone right now. :) And yeah, all the army docs want to know if you're suicidal or not, right off the bat. Don't you love that it's part of the dang questionaire you have to fill out? Uggh. ha ha. I guess they think we have more stress than regular ole' civilians. I got preggo with my first at 19 and she's now in kindergarten. Time flies. You'll be holding your lil baby before you know it. Good luck!
