27-4-2009 - i\'ve got a dilemma and need some advice

My mood while writing this blog:

I haven't updated in a while, so i thought this would be an update along with my dilemma!

I moved back down to houston to be with my family while my husband is deployed. i live with my brother, at first it was with his wife, and step-daughter. But my brother and her are getting divorced, so my brother and i moved into an apartment. i'm lucky cause my brother doesn't make me pay rent, and i'm very thankful. my brother works off shore though, so i'm home alone alot of the time, 2 to 4 weeks at a time...sometimes even 6 weeks!

my best friend (whose husband is also deployed) lives about 30 minutes away from me, i've known her since i was about 5 years old. me and her have been through everything together. and being that my husband is deployed, his scheduled leave date is for july 10th, my due date is a week before that, so they will not send him home even if i called red cross....which i'm going to when i do go into labor to notify him that i'm having our son.

anywho...my bestfriend is having some issues with her mom, so she is moving back towards killeen, close to the base, early june, and my brother will be off shore most of june....so i'm scared shit less that no one will be here if i have him early, around 38 weeks or even before that, cause my doctor said that if i haven't had him by 39 weeks, she will induce me, which is all well and dandy, cause then i will know an exact date and my mom can drive me to the hospital, but what if he comes early???

am i just freaking myself out, because i'm really nervous, and scared that i'm gonna be alone. doesn't help that my hubby won't be home for the birth or even until 2 weeks-4 weeks after he is here!! ugh!!!

i wish u luck hun u must be scared right now not having ur husband home with u. I just know when the time comes u will have sumone there with you. Does ur mom live near u? is she able to come live with u a couple days before and after u will be induced? If ever u just wanna talk to sumone let me know :)

My ex-hubby deployed when I was 8 months and I was all alone. 99% of first time moms have l o n g labors and don't normaly come early. It will be better to gauge as d-day gets closer, as your ob can check your cervix and give you updates.

SO how far away is your mom from where you are? That is sad your hubby won't be home for the birth, I wish they would at least let him come home early on his leave if you went into labor. Geeze. The military sucks sometimes. I know how it is to be alone because I was sure my hubby wouldn't be here (and there's no family here), but things change and now he is home luckily. Just make sure you have a plan of what you would do, who you would call etc if your water broke or something. Mostly, first time babies are on time or late, but I wouldn't count on it since my first was born at 36 weeks. It's just nice to be prepared with a plan just in case something does happen. My water broke and it was totally unexpected. Good luck hun and I know you will make it through this. You are very strong. Is your mom in the area or no? Is there at least one person who could be with you in the delivery room? I hope it all gets worked out and you get your plan down. Let me know if you ever need to talk or vent! Good luck. =)

hey...chances are for first time babies they like to be late..(my son was 10 days late, and my sister's son was 12 days late..as well as all my girl friend's first babies who were pretty much all late also ) and since ur doctor is inducing u at 39 weeks, i would say its a safe bet that u will make it till then...try not to worry and scare urself about it..hospitals give alot of support and are very helpful regardless and remember ur a strong woman, no matter what does happen!!
