15-5-2009 - Upsetting news

Well,

We got some bad news yesterday. Rylee has been diagnosed with Pulmonary valve stenosis. It's a condition where the pulmonary valve is not a flexable as it should be, or it is too thick, so the blood has a hard time getting through that particular valve. They can do surgery to fix it, they go up through the femoral artery and either baloon it, or fix it. Another option is open heart, but they do the angio's more often. We go in to see a pediatric cardiologist on the 28th to find out the severity, and what the treatment will be. I am very scared and worried. Please keep Rylee in your prayers and thoughts. I am going to need a lot of emotional support to get through this.

Your family is in my prayers. Keep in mind that cardiac surgery is one of the most successful areas of surgery today. So much is known about the heart and how it functions and what needs to be done to repair it for a full repair. I know it will be a stressful time, but I am sure Rylee will make a full recovery :) ((hug))
