22-7-2009 - C-section date, popping, pic, and a SNAKE! OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

I went to the dr Tues and he said Gabe is SO BIG (39 wks) that he expects my water to break at any moment unless I have an "amniotic sac made of steel". Just in case it doesn't, he scheduled a c-section for August 5th (11 days before my due date) because of his size. I took my last Terbutaline pill Sunday and am dealing a lot better with the sporadic cntrxns than the other side effects of that junk. I'm still up in the air about whether to take my shot this week or not since I have a date... we'll see. I'm putting a pic up of my BIG belly. My son's in the pic too. He walked in and saw me lifting my shirt up and without prompting raised his shirt too and said "Daddy, take pic-shur, bel-dy". It was so cute!

I survived clinicals last weekend at the hospital and was so pumped bc I was able to help this little lady who was going down hill start eating again, lift her spirits, and help her family learn how to take care of her. I'm starting to realize that's what nursing's really supposed to be about. Not shots, caths, and that other junk, but just taking care of people and giving them a good day despite a bad situation. I'm actually to the point that I do not like giving shots to patients I know bc I don't want to hurt them (but I'm told that my shots don't hurt so far so yea!)

OMG, and I almost forgot! Last night at 11 pm when we were all getting ready to go to bed, my husband starts screaming from the kitchen. My son ran towards him thinking he was playing but I knew something was seriously wrong so I leaped and caught Cade before he rounded the corner into the kitchen. The was a freakin' SNAKE in my house! It was crawling just past Josh out of our utility room under the fridge in the kitchen. Josh was freaking out, Cade was trying to go in there, and I'm 9 months pregnant about to have a kid on the floor! While Josh went outside to get a shovel (the only weapon we had) I'm holding Cade in the living room watching to make sure the thing stays under there. Josh can't even kill a spider with a shoe when it's 2 inches in front of his face, so I was like "You're not going near it, I'm calling animal control". Long story short, the redneck animal control guy pulls up in his pickup 30 MIN later as the snake is trying to crawl out. He gets down with his face on my kitchen floor in front of the fridge :O and starts digging for it. When they got it out, it was long and we're pretty sure it was a ground rattler, lovely. The best I can figure is that when Josh took the trash out the night before and left the back door open (like he always does), it came in then and just chilled in my laundry room all day with me and Cade by ourselves. Thank God I didn't go in there! I'm telling y'all, I was praying that snake under the fridge, shaking, it was ugly... But, like I said I have ALOT of things to be thankful for bc that could have been alot worse! Now I'm freaked out in my own house and I'm thinking "I'm about to bring a newborn in here.."

If anything else eventful happens, I'll let y'all know! LOL so take care!
