Ummm... LOL at this.. sorry.. Randi Shae is now 18 mons old and she still takes the boob. I have told myself too that NO MRE booby... Well.. she is still taking it. I will not go past 2. BUT i need to wean her cause baby Cheyne is due July 9th. She only gets booby 2 times a day. Sometimes jsut once. Thats at bed and nap times. She ONLY wants it then. Like its her comfort zone. I weaned my son at 1 and he was NO prob once so ever. BUT randi.. hahaha she looks at me when its time and sticks her hand out to me like, give it to me, im ready... GOOD LUCK sweetie... you will do it. I know about the bitting tooo.. she has 12 teeth. she only bites when i try to take boob out of her mouth. They say to bring her close to you and like out her nose into your boob so she cant breath and it will make her not bite. Some one told me on here before. At 1st i was like.. UMMM NO.. then i did and she stopped bitting me. She takes a cup.. i gotta go now.. she is getting fusy.. ttyl..

I weaned my son around 1. I was going to do it earlier because I thought it was time and my pediatrician advised me to wait. She said if you wait until he is ready it will be much easier. She said most babies will wean themselves between 12-16 months. And the process will be much smoother. It worked for me. He just started taking a cup on his own.. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

It's not for everybody but (with the help of my bestfriend who was holding her the whole time cause I didn't have the patience) we just had Jordan go cold turkey thru a feeding - and no it wasn't pleasant but it worked. By the time she truly realized she had not choice for feeding she just gave in and took the bottle. And it was heaven for me from that moment forward....lol!

So, here's the deal- Layla is turning 8 months next Monday and I've been telling myself for the past 5 (months) that I was going to begin weaning her. Well, I could never bring myself to do it. It was always "next month", by the way...the same is true with getting her in her own room...but, back to the subject. I wake up with hickies because she can't unhook my bra, so she sucks where she can -which to me sounds like she is just sucking for comfort, not for milk. And, not only that! She is biting the HE!! out of me and laughs about it.....so, yuh-it's time for her to come off.
Here is my problem: I don't know how to end it, I've been giving her bottles when she pats me to nurse, but sometimes she only wants to nurse...no bottles. Any advice is appreciated.
