10-2-2009 - Recognizing a Blessing

My mood while writing this blog: appreciative

For a week now, I've been sitting back and taking inventory of the blessings in my life. And even though my life isn't glitz and glam, I am oh so thankful to be right here, right now.

I still have my Mom and Dad both alive. It's true, my Dad and I don't have a "Father-Daughter" relationship, bbut as long as he and I are breathing, there is this thing called opportunity. I even have 2 living grandmothers who very well may give my daughter something sacred...memories.

I have long-time friends and some that are fairly new in my life. It's true, the new friends and I have never even been in the same room together, but I am so fortunate to have run into you at this time in my life. I don't like to name names, but you know who you are...I am sooooooo appreciative of your willingness to offer insight and share things with me and relate to things I thought no one understood. You've helped me to realize that many of my trials are really my blessings.

I have a husband who has always accepted me just as I am. Who inspires me in ways he doesn't even know. A man who doesn't anger easily, who always, always, always sees the glass as half full. He has some hang-ups, but who doesn't. I got plenty of my own bags so it only makes sense to consolidate....right??? No...he isn't perfect, but he's perfect for me!

Most important.....Layla. I could go on for days, but to sum it up... I'm not so concerned with our new findings because God gave us Her. I still pray that she is healthy, happy and the other 29,999,567,911 things I ask God for. She is the reason I'm becoming Brand New. Just trust me on this one...it's a Blessing!!!!!
