16-6-2009 - Postpartum weight loss ecstaticMy mood while writing this blog:
ecstatic

2 weeks and a day later...I got on the scale last night and I am currently 17 lbs. less my pre pregnancy weight. Now I know this isn't all credited to breastfeeding alone. I have had a suppressed appetite but that baby is cranking back up slowly, but surely. My baby is a milkaholic. She doesn't do what the books say she will do...10-15 minutes on each breast. She is more like a 45 minute feeder ( including pauses and burps), 30 minute breaker and 15-20 on the other breast.

I never thought I would say this, but even if the weight wasn't an advantage-this is still the most amazing thing she and I have going right now. Each late night/early early early EARLY morning feeding that shifts my thoughts toward formula are quickly tossed aside once we get our rhythm.

I know that's right. I did loose some of the baby weight from breastfeeding, but I still have more to loose. Diet and exercise will help the weight come off faster. (Trust me, it's better said than done). I sure wish I could take my own advise. LOL

yeah, its is a cool thing; however, make sure you are eating, because if you dont then the sweet cravings kick in. i barely ate in the beginning and then all of a sudden I craved sweets. (I hated sweets before) I mean I could eat gallons of pistacio ice cream, and pounds of snickers. it turned out that my body needed energy and natures way of me getting it was through that craving. Remember little food, no sleep ended up in sugar fits. and later when you stop bf. the pounds appear. I thought I was crazy until some wise woman told me that what was going on. Once I started getting more sleep and eating balanced meals while bf they subsided...but it was crazy. I could eat like three candy bars in an hour.

Good for you.. Breastfeeding is the best. I weigh less then before I got pregnant also and I am still nursing..Another great reason to breastfeed
