12-1-2009 - 40 week doctors appt

My mood while writing this blog: disappointed

Hey everyone just a little update.. My due date was today and still no baby I went to the doctors all excited today hoping I could choose when to be induced and I was all ready to tell her I wanted to be induced today! Lol.. I just wanna meet my Tiego finally. But.. That wasnt the case at all nurse scheduled my induction for next Tuesday January the 20th... I wish it was sooner :(... I thought I was gonna be a momma this week! Ah well good news is I am now dilated to 2cm and she stripped the membranes of my cervix during the exam and so now I have brownish reddish discharge so hopefully that will help get things going. Doc said it should... I really dont want to be induced I had to sign a sheet saying the doc explained to me that there are risks involved with induction.. I just want labor to come on its own... Yesterday I even walked the west edmonton mall all day ( the biggest mall in Canada ) and then ate some spicy food and still nothing... Doc said stimulating my nipples might help as well to bring on labor so maybe i will try that .. Hope all is well with everyone and their pregnancies / babies!!

thats great news that u've dialated. i stayed 1cm for the longest time. after my second membrane sweep at 40 weeks things just flew by fast. that whloe weekend i was bleeding and leaking fluid. then contractions started. i went on walks and had lots of sex and in just two more days my daughter was born. hang in there. just keep walking and hopefully ur body will do what its supposed to. i was supposed to be induced but my daughter came the day before i was scheduled.
