Hi all, well its been two weeks since my son was born and since i have a moment i thought I would finally post my birth story for all to read. My son is back up to his birth weight and mommy is doing well too. Im so proud of Tiego if he could sleep through the night he would but mommy has to wake him for his feedings and the only times he crys is when hes cold so when i change his diaper or give him a bath . Hes our miracle baby.. heres his birth story....

Well I was scheduled to be induced on January 20th but it wasnt a for sure thing it all depended on if there was a room available for me so I was told the hospital calls between 6 and 7 am and if they havent called by 10 am i was to call them and check the status of my induction. So i woke up at 5 am and decided to shower and have some breakfast and wait for the call... 7 am rolls around and I still havent received a call so i was getting a little impatient all my friends and family were asking if i had heard anything yet and i was so upset they didnt call and i was so emotional i started to cry and then i finally figured they wouldnt call and i called them around 10 and they said they were really busy so they would call me either later that day or the next day so i crawled back into bed with my hunni and around 2 pm the phone rang it was my sister seeing if i had heard anything because she was going to be there for the delivery since my mom lives in a different province and couldnt make it out till the 26th.. i told my sister no and that i was sleeping and i hung up and like 2 min later the phone rang again and i was surprised to hear it was the hospital calling and asked if i was still ready to come in i said yes!!! and i told my hubby and we got everything ready in the truck and off we went to the hospital. I was told in my last doc appointment that they were going to try the gel first to see if that worked. When i got to the hospital they admitted me and hooked me up to the monitors and then shortly after put the gel in..Well the gel didnt work the way they wanted my body to react to it so the doctor came and flushed it all out and decided next we were going to try the oxytocin through the I.V. That night they were really busy at the hospital with women already in labour and so they told me they werent going to do anything else until the next morning and i was able to get a good nights rest but i had to stay there because i was GBS postive and they had to get the antibiotics into me every 4 hrs. So the next morning came and my hubby had to go home to feed the cat and so the nurse started my oxytocin drip and hooked me back upp to the monitors to monitor me and baby. I was having contractions but they were really irregular and babys heartrate dropped a little so they gave me some oxygen to see if that would help and my hubby showed back up and he saw me with the mask on and he almost cried seeing me like that but everything was fine. They started the drip again and upped the mils slowly and i was able to walk around andbounce on my birthing ball and contractions werent bad at all but i knew i was finally having them. my sister showed up around 1130 pm. I knew that my contractions were getting atronger and only going to get worse and so i knew i was going to want the epi eventually and they told me i could get it before doc broke my water i was about 2 cm dilated then. so around 1230 i got the epi which didnt hurt at all and my IV hurt more and then around 1 pm the doc broke my water and checked and i was 2.5 cm dilated. I was having pretty strong contractions after that but couldnt really tell because epi was AWESOME but it did start the ware off and i was in tears and nurse came in and then they topped up my epi and aftrer that i was laughing and singing songs and just waiting for when it was time to push. I dilated pretty quickly because next thing i knew it was time. I pushed in under an hour and my baby boy was born at 843 pm 9lbs 4 oz. Everyone was shocked at his size not even doc thought hed be that big and everyone said i was a trooper because doc even said if they had of known hed be that big i would of needed a c section but i delivered him vaginally!!... The epi didnt take away the pain of pushing and let me tell you it hurt so much i felt like giving up a couple times and kept saying i couldnt do this and then my hubby said this is it this is your last push i grabbed onto his arm and pushed so hard and doc told me to stop pushing i didnt know at the time but his cord was around his neck and i was wondering why they didnt put him on me right away they thought they would have to recucitate him but he didnt need any assistance thats why hes my miracle baby. He was so blue in the face and swollen but it didnt take long for that to go down. His right arm was behind his body doc had to pull him out and thats why i tore but his arm went right back to normal afterwards and i had less then 10 stiches. Oh and they had the vacuum ready to use but my hubby looked at the doc and said no way she can do this and i did. I recovered pretty quickly and i was in labour for only 7 hrs and nurses and everyone said my labour and delivry was pretty much textbook it went so well and I am so happy.
