| 12-6-2009 - SO HAPPY! | My mood while writing this blog:So happy! |
I feel like I haven't sat down to write a blog in just about forever. I also feel like I never have any time to do so anymore. =o)
Well, on June 10th Drew had such a big day. Full of many milestones but the most awesome one was that I have been given a name. As Drew has been saying "Dada" for quite a while, my name really consisted of Drew standing looking up at me with his arms up over his head as if to say, "Mommy, pick me up"! Well now it's official. I have a name!!! Yes ma'am! Patrick was feeding Drew dinner in his highchair on Wednesday night and Patrick said to Drew, "Can you say Mommy"? and Drew blurted out "MAMA"!!! We both just about fell over. Patrick asked him for a second time to say Mommy and Drew said "MAMA" again! What music to my ears! Drew laughed out loud after he said it the second time. Patrick and I both were so ecstatic! I just couldn't believe it. So, as I am pointing to myself and saying "I'm mama" Drew now says, "Dada". LOL I find myself encouraging Drew to say Mama over and over again which I am sure that I will regret soon. (drum & cymbal) LOL
As I often wander through Target, Walmart or our local grocery establishment I am reminded by what I call "bad kids" as to "WHY" I probably shouldn't encourage Drew to say "Mommy". These kids scream out "Mama, mama, mama, mama" and it's the weirdest thing too because for some weird reason, MOMMY DOESN'T RESPOND!!! The kids are pulling everything off the shelves and pushing and pinching one another and screaming at the top of their lungs and the mother's are at wits end and just don't care to discipline them anymore at this point. Ladies, I must tell you the look on Drew's face (stunned) when he looks at these kids when we are out. It's like horror has taken over. hahaha
I tell Drew quietly, "Drew, they are not being very nice are they"? and then I follow it up with "You aren't going to make mommy crazy like their mommy's are you honey". In which Drew turns to me and Laughs out loud and babbles something funny.
Oh, the joys!
I'm just glad that I have a name now!
Love to all the mommys!
Love,
"MAMA" :0)
