| 02-10-2010 - 6Months | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
Hello my IAP friends. I feel badly for being so out of touch with all of you - however, we are all so busy with the same adventures of motherhood and post partum challenges I'm sure.
Well Jacob is now nearly 7mths (on Oct9th). I took him to a new doctor this past week because mine packed up shop - just closed his practice - didn't get a letter or anything! Anyway, good news is he is super healthy and we just got his 4mth shots done.
He weighed in at 24lb 15oz and 29"3/4 inches tall! According to Baby Growth Canada, If Jacob continues to grow in the listed percentiles (95th and above) Jacob's approximate height and weight when fully grown will be 190 centimetres (6' 3'') and 101 kilograms (223 pounds) respectively. Big boy! :)
I am truely amazed this month at how much his personality has developed - he gets so excited when he sees people he knows, he LOVES reading (well turning his pages or being read to) his giant Peek-A-Boo Baby books, and when I do this little 'donkey riding song and bounce him in my arms on the bed, when I stop he thrusts his little body up and down wanting more!
I just started him on some solids - for the past week he's been having about 1 or 2 servings each day. Good by sweet scentless bf poops.... the dark brown stinkers have arrived.
Things are super busy with me, I still work with my DH, although its mostly computer based so I can juggle that from home (or I used to be able to) but Im also back teaching part time (I'm a part time professor at a University). So its been really tough on me too, since Jacob doesn't like to sleep at night alone.
I've been co sleeping with him, and now find he just wont sleep unless someone is beside him or holding him. AS soon as his head touches the mattress of the crib - he opens his little eyes, hands start shaking and he starts crying... so I have some work ahead of me.
Overall, Im loving being a mommy. Although I certainly notice that I need to focus on me a little more - grey hairs are sprouting out, I'm still not any thinner (bc I've had NO time to myself to work out - all I do is work and take care of Jacob). So I'm trying to get out walking and I just got a gym membership. DH booked us a trip to Hawaii for December - 2wks - so I hope to loose at least 10lbs in the next 2 months...maybe more if I bust my butt?
Anyway, I hope you are all doing well and enjoying this new phase in life. I certainly would love another one, and with my age I need to start planning that soon (Im 33 now). I've passed the date to have a baby before Im 34 so I figure as long as Im pregnant before next July, I'll have my second before Im 35 (but AF still isnt back bc Im breastfeeding so much still)
Any tips on spacing would be great!
Hugs to you all!
