| 31-7-2008 - Lessons of new Mom | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
Throughout my entire pregnancy I had everything pretty much under control. I took the classes, read the books, reviewed and tested the products....all of this to prepare for motherhood. To get me ready to bring this great little guy into the world and to give me a head start. None of these things prepared me for how tired I would be, how much my body would hurt, the emotions I would feel and how much I would love this little guy.
It is so funny how much having a baby changes you (even if you thought it wouldn't). The one thing I have really been struggling with is not having enough time to get everything done. As I planned to go back to work I arranged my schedule and planned out dinners and chores. I neatly organized my life on the calendar and made a plan for how I would keep up with everything. I thought I used to know what multi-tasking. My new definition of multi-tasking is pumping both breasts at the same time, while doing squats in the bathroom stall. After two weeks of trying to keep up I realized it wasn't going to work.
As a working mom these are the lessons that I have learned. I learned that it is ok to have a kitchen full of dishes, order take out, have piles full of laundry, be a little late for work, have a little jiggle on your booty (from not being able to make it to the gym), have some milk stains on your shirt and purse. I have wiped out my plans on my calendar and schedule - which now reads spend as much time playing with, kissing, making funny faces at, and loving my little boy!
I am sure all of you have learned lessons as new moms and just wanted to share what I have learned. Hope everyone is enjoying their little angels!! We are all so BLESSED to be MOMS!
