| 25-1-2010 - 2WW, Clearblue Monitor Report, Vitex | My mood while writing this blog:optimistic |
I'm officially in the 2WW at CD42. Yay! Haven't been there since the end of August. FF hasn't updated my chart yet, but I've had 2 high temp days in a row, so it looks like I Oed Saturday.
The ferility monitor was both a disappointment and great.
It was a disappointment in that it stopped asking for test sticks and started waiting for AF after CD25. The first 20 test sticks all looked the same, dark estrogen line, light LH line. And I stopped using the sticks for a bit b/c the monitor wasn't reading them. But then I decided just to POAS anyway to see if I could read any changes in the lines with the naked eye. About 5 days before O, I noticed that the estrogen line was lighter. Then gradually, the LH line started getting darker and the estrogen line lighter until what I'm guessing was my peak where I had a dark LH line and faint estrogen line. I used OPKs along side and did have + OPK, coinciding with the peak on the monitor sticks.
So the monitor was great (or at least the test sticks were), b/c I saw O coming about 5 days out, instead of a day or 2 out like I would with the OPK. I've heard that the monitor will adjust itself to your cycles, so we'll see what happens in future months, but I'm sold just on the test sticks, even without the machine! Def earlier detection than OPKs.
In all the time I've been TTC (almost 2 years), I've never had a surge last long enough to see + OPK more than one day. In the past, I could miss it if I didn't test twice a day. I've now had a + OPK for 5 days in a row! WTF? Maybe the tests I'm using are just super sensitive. They are ones I got at CVS, I ran out of my internet cheapies.
I started taking Vitex on CD25. I cannot say for certain that it was responsible for my results this month. The bottle says not to take it during PG, but I've also read some stuff saying that you need to wean off if you get PG, not just stop. I've been taking it twice a day, so I am planning to take it once a day during the 2WW and then if I'm PG, I will call the OB and see if they have an opinion on whether to stop or wean off.
I'll let you know what happens. I'm just so happy that my body is working again, that I don't even think I will be super crushed if I don't get PG this cycle. If I don't, then I will get HSG test and that may improve my chances as well. I'm feeling good about a 2010 BFP. Let's start the new decade right.
Thanks for all of your support ladies. Truckloads of baby dust to all of you. :)
