I had my baby shower on Saturday. It went pretty well. I got a good deal of presents omg! Sadly pretty much nothing was bought off my registry at all though! So I ended up having to return A LOT of stuff. I don't get why people don't just buy off your registry...like the point of buying you something for the baby is to help you out and what not so why not get what you actually need and want? I got so much stuff that either I would never use (like baby powder...they say not to use it now because you inhale it and it's no good and stuff) and things I already had, or things I just didn't like. I got a bunch of Winnie the Pooh stuff which was annoying because we had told A LOT of people that I didn't want any Pooh stuff because I'm really not into it at all...and the only people who bought me it are the people who KNEW!
And like I get that people buy what they think you need...for example I got some bottles (that happened to be Winnie the Pooh) but they are the ones with the bad plastic which I refuse to use!
In general I am still really happy with what I got though. The returns were fairly easy and I just got gift cards so now I can buy the stuff I actually need.
I am really greatful for everything though! Even the stuff I didn't want lol
I am a little mad at one of my "best" friends...she came and didn't even bring me a CARD! Nothing at all. I had lots of friends come who couldn't afford to get me something and I was more than ok with it...but they had come to me and said like hey sorry but I can't get you something, or some said they would later even, and they all still managed to give me a card. This girl didn't do anything. She didn't even talk to me about it. It may sound greedy to be pissed about it, but I mean come on it's a baby shower...to SHOWER the baby with GIFTS.
That and we spent well over $200 in the end of it all on throwing the frigen shower! ANNNND to top it off the day before my shower she spent $20 on WEED and had been to the mall shopping for clothes for herself and then the night of my baby shower her and all my other friends went and had a girls night drinking (which I also found a bit annoying...) and she bought alcohol! They had to rush away from the shower so that they could make it to the liquor store!
So it's not even like she didn't have the money to afford a gift...she just didn't bother. I can't believe how rude she is!

I was also really kind of bummed out because I seriously got no time to socialize with anyone! I was too busy opening all the gifts and never got to go talk. I feel so rude about it myself!
And I was SOOO hot and just kept dying of heat because I was stuck in this warm chair opening gifts so I couldn't go walk around and catch a bit of a breeze.
It really sucked. Especially because my BD's mom and niece were there...and knew nobody but me...and his mom had met me only once before and the niece had never met me before! So they seriously knew nobody!
My mom and sister were supposed to talk to them lots but they were busy most of the shower dealing with food and games and crap that they never ever did! We also never did the introduction game thing we were going to do...so nobody even knew who WHO was! Basically nobody talked to them but a few of my friends who would chit chat here and there who were sitting next to them! I feel like his mom is going to hate me for not making it more of a comfortable time for her and his niece! Like if I were her I would have felt so uncomfortable and awkward the whole entire time. I really hope they had a good time though.

ALSO my dress apparently was pretty hiked up the whole time I was sitting! I was sitting with my legs together but apparently not much...because in many of the pictures you can nearly see my underwear or mainly you could just see flabby thighs!!! I couldn't believe nobody told me! Like here I am the centre of attention for four hours and I look like crap! The dress bunched up because of it kind of, so I looked really frumpy too!!
I wish sooo badly that someone had told me. I had to crop every picture of me basically so that you can't see my legs at all.

On another note, my cakes were great!! I had two because I don't like normal cake all that much...I like icecream cake from Dairy Queen lol So my sister in law got me one and then a big chocolate cake too. I had a piece of the icecream cake...and the rest was demolished by guests lol and then I tried the chocolate one later and OMG it was sooo good. I never even got to see either of them though...only in pictures later. They were served up while I was of course opening gifts. That's like all I did. It really sucked!

In the end I think I had a pretty good shower, I think most people enjoyed themselves, the food was good, and I got lots of gifts!
Now I'm just waiting for my BD to finally come over to see all the stuff we got.



But again...as much as I am complaining about it all...I had a good shower and got a lot of good stuff lol
