29-10-2008 - My Pledge

My mood while writing this blog:

You ladies are my witnesses..

After my traumatic experience in the changing rooms last night and seeing a gross rear end and thighs, I pledge from this day forward to:

1) Eat healthy. Bypass the donuts and fried food and chose the fresh fruit and add more vegetables to my meals.

2) Drink water instead of coffee and pop. Other than my morning coffee I can't live without.

3) Exercise every day no MATTER how tired I am.

Changes made already - I took the stairs yesterday and today to and from the lobby of the hotel (I'm on the 4th floor). I chose a banana instead of a donut to bring with me for snack. I got water from the vending machine instead of diet Pepsi and M&M's.

I want the rest of my pregnancy to be very healthy and I want to be fit enough to play my first hockey game with the women on Feb 7 (due jan 23 - I think the jan 25 game might be too soon unless I go early LOL). I'd like to play with the guys maybe the Friday before. We don't have a game between b/c of the Superbowl.

I am already on the path and I will not stray!

hehe you are funny! :) that's a good idea, but don't be too harsh on yourself! :) especially now during pregnancy.... it's a tough time to make any goals like that :) e.g. exercise every day, no matter what .... that one is tough ..... my goal is to go to the gym at least 3 times a week.... i noticed i am getting more and more tired ..... but in pregnancy tiredness is a good sign to take it easy ... so don't over-do it ;)

Good one about the doughnuts! No excuse for not following that one! ;) hehe

It is so funny that you write about your change room experience exactly the way I felt a couple weeks ago when I went in to try on some maternity clothes. I immediatly put on the clothing, too tight of course, I wore in and left the store feeling humungo! Since that event I have not tried on one maternity article of clothing and I am still eating like a ravenous starving pregnant lady. Anyway, there will be plenty of time for you to get back in shape. Not too much longer to go. This is the time to enjoy it all! Michelle D

That is a good pledge and even better is the fact that you have already begun implementing it. Just remember sometimes it is good to give into a craving here and there. When you don't you will only eat and eat until you get what you want and that is worse than just eating an occassional donut I know your pledge will work out for you so that you will be on that ice come feb 7 - which is by the way my b'day
