| 13-8-2009 - My Midwife | My mood while writing this blog:Sore but relaxed |
I had my first appointment with my assigned midwife for the rest of the pregnancy & birth. She was wonderful, she explained everything about the birthing centre, about how they try many different techniques to achieve a natural birth and helped clear me of a few of my worries.
Hubby came with me to this appt and he got to hear the heartbeat for the first time, (i heard her last week) What an amazing sound!! She was beating well at 144bpm. My BP was perfect, she measured my uterus and bubs is the right size, the only complaint i have is my really sore ribs from ligament stretching/moving, im hoping this will pass soon just like it did with my lower back in the first trimester..
My next appointment is towards the end Sept, when ill have my Anti-D injections for my negative blood, and have the diabetes & iron levels blood tests. Finally thats the last of the blood taking!!
My midwife has booked me in for some breastfeeding classes and some antenatal classes which im looking forward to, and at the start of sept, i also start my yoga classes which will go till the actual birth.
The best thing about chosing the birthing centre is that i get the same midwifes all the way through, the birth room is set up like a hotel with bath for a possible water birth, double bed so hubby can stay and i only have to be kept in for 24 hours then can go home :) Providing i dont end up with complications! Then the midwife comes for home visits for 6 weeks... awesome!!
Im really happy with how things are travelling :)
