| 05-8-2009 - Sugar's good! | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
I've been keeping track of my sugar levels for 6 days now. It's going great! My blood sugar has been avereging about 100 over those 6 days. Last night was the first time it was too high. I think it was because I had too many grape tomatoes (I love those things) and I ate past feeling full. I made a huge salad and after like 10 bites I was full. I made myself finish it and ended up feeling sick after. I thought I was doing good because it was so healthy.... whoops! I learned my lesson. After that salad my level was 126. It shouldn't go higher then 120. I waited one more hour and tested again and it was back down to 91. Other then that my numbers are staying in the 90s (and in the 80s when I wake up). This isn't as hard as I thought it would be. Every once in a while I have to try more then once to get enough blood. I'm going through those needle things fast. I am slowly getting better at it. I still indulge in a hersey kiss everyday. Only one and I let it melt on my tounge... So yummy!
I still haven't told anyone at home (Except for my husband and my family in Florida) that I have GD. I'm kind of embarrassed to have been diagnosed so early. I might let everyone know after 20 weeks. I told the nurse that I am truly grateful they found out early so I don't end up with a 12 pound baby in January. =) My husband told me the other night... "Don't think about what you can't do... thing about what you can do." BRILLIANT! I'm so glad I married him.
If any of you end up with GD (I hope none of you do) you'll do great! It's not that hard. Just keep in mind that it's all for your health and the baby's.
I go to the doctor on Monday so he can see how I did my first week. I hope I am a #1... A+ patient! =)
