| 10-8-2009 - Follow up appointment | My mood while writing this blog:Excited! |
I am so excited! I just got back from my follow up appointment with my OB. He wanted to see how I did my first week of checking my blood sugar. I thought I would just meet with him in his office, but it was a regular appointment. My blood pressure is getting better. I always have low BP but when I go to the doctors office I get so tense that is rises. I still associate my miscarriage with going to my OB. I guess the further along I get the more relaxed I'll feel. Anyway, he looked at my food diary and my sugar level chart and he said, "I'm very impressed!" Woo Hoo! That made my day. He said it looks very, very normal. He was very proud of me. Then he wanted to listen to the heartbeat! Yes! At first he put the doppler near my bellybutton (that's the highest consentration of chunk.) He could hear the baby moving and he said my uterus was a good size too. He moved the doppler thing down 3 inches below my bellybutton and there was the most beautiful sound in the world. =) The baby's BPM was 145. I feel great!
My next appointment is Aug. 20th. After that they want me to come in every 2 weeks, from then on, to make sure my sugar levels are good. I'm fine with that. I hate waiting 4 weeks to hear the heartbeat. I will have to tell my friends and family here soon, because they are going to want to know why I have to go in every 2 weeks. I want to wait until at least 20 weeks before telling anyone. I might change my mind though... we'll see. =)
