| 18-7-2009 - Finally! <33 | My mood while writing this blog:In Love |
Unfortunately, I don't have my computer at my house so I only can go on the site from my phone and write comments, do polls, etc. but I can't write blogs or add pictures unless I get to my computer. So, even though I'm 23 weeks and 3 days and I've been on here for a little while this will be my first one.
I didn't get my 20 week scan until I was 22 weeks and 5 days. When I did go in, the ultrasound technician really wasn't friendly at all, and she looked for about a minute and said "Well, I guess you'll just have to wait until the birth to find out the sex". I switched my insurance right before I got pregnant (go figure) and it's really not as good, so she was right - I would have had to wait until the birth. Ha, me? Be Patient??
So, I immediately started looking into 3d ultrasound places. However, I am 23 weeks and 3 days and was told by moms and by the ultrasound places that it really is worth it to wait until about 29-30 weeks. Well, I wasn't about to wait ANOTHER 8 weeks to find out the sex.
I decided to just schedule for a 2d ultrasound for gender determination but I did it at a place that specialized in 3d. The appointment was this morning at 11:30 a.m. and I was amazed by the entire experience!
When I walked into the ultrasound room, it was large and open. (When I did my big u/s for my doctor I swear we were squished into this 2 x 2 ft room!) She had music playing, and candles and a waterfall. There was a large projector screen on the wall, and it was easy for all of us to see (my mom joined us because she was just as anxious as me about finding out the sex). Also, I got to lay in this gigantic, comfy chair this time, not a hard, flat board!
So, the technician said she was going to show us the baby and then would tell us the gender. Well, she showed us the face and the baby was sucking it's thumb and feeling it's face. It must be amazed at the feeling of it's own face because it did that last time too :) . All of us noticed at that moment that the baby looks a lot more like Oscar, at least right now. Anyway, she then said "Oh, well, I guess we're not waiting, wanna know the sex?" and then showed us, and. . .
HE'S ALL BOY !! <33
It's funny because I found myself before looking at girl's clothes, thinking of girl's names, and I don't think it was really because I wanted a girl more. I think it's because I'm so girly and I just love pink and purple and girly names, even not pregnant I used to think about girls names that I liked.
It's absolutely amazing though how once I found out I was having a boy, how I was just filled with excitement, love, happiness - everything at once. I don't know if it's just me or not either, but did any of you mommies when you found out the sex feel like the bond and love you have for the baby got even stronger? I already loved him so much, and now that I know he's my little boy, and have seen his face, and can feel his kicks, I feel like the bond gets stronger every single day. It's hard to even explain, but it's absolutely amazing and I can't wait to hold him in my arms <3 .
I just found out today - and I've already shopped! :-\ We bought 5 little outfits, mostly Carter's because they're outfits are my favorite :) . Anyway, when I'm able to, probably by Monday or Tuesday, I will add the pictures from the ultrasound. I'm just so happy <3
