| 06-6-2009 - Seans Health | My mood while writing this blog:good, just keeping record |
So Sean is already 1 year old and I can't believe it!
I am using this blog as a reference for my records of his health.
2009 - 2010
April 18th, 2009
(1 year 2 days)
Reason : I self diagnosed pink eye, when he woke up with it goopy.
They give you a whole bottle of these drops when they have pink eye and you only use a very tiny bit of it. So I just used what I already had from his previous case.
Diagnosis : Pink Eye
Medication : Neo-Poly drops
April 24th, 2009
(1 year 1 week)
Reason : One year check up
Weight : 25.8 pounds (82nd percentile)
Height : 32 inches (95th percentile)
Test : Cbc Results : Iron is perfect
We went in to get Seans shots, but unfortunately since he does have a cold he did the physical assesment, but told us to come back for his shots.
Diagnosis : Cold
Medication : C-Phen drops
April 25th, 2009
(1 year 1 week)
Reason : Running temp over 101
Weight : 25.8 pounds (82nd percentile)
After being at the doctor yesterday, Sean got a little worse over night and spiked a temperature. I figured I better get him looked at.
Diagnosis : Double ear and throat infection
Medication : Omnicef, Albuterol Mini Nebs
April 27th, 2009
(1 year 1 week)
Reason : Still running high fever and miserable
Weight : 25.3 pounds (78th percentile)
Sean has not been sleeping at all and still has this cold. He has also been wheezing pretty good at night. So I decided to take him back in and have his lungs listened too.
Diagnosis : Same
Medication : Stay with the Omnicef
April 28th, 2009
(1 year 2 week)
Reason : Broke out in massive hives
I called the doctor and explained what I was seeing, plus took pictures. They he was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I needed to stop the antibiotic and give him benadryl every four hours. If the rash persisted I would need to bring him in.
Diagnosis : Allergic to Omnicef
Medication : Benadryl and Albuterol Mini Nebs
May 11th, 2009
(1 year 3 week)
Reason : Fever and wheezing
Weight : 24.13 pounds (74th percentile)
Height : 32 inches (95th percentile)
Head Circ : 19 inches (91st percentile)
Once again we went in for the shots, and due to the wheezing and fever we have to come back. I spoke to the doctor about the constant colds / allergies and he still wants to wait to send him to an allergist.
Diagnosis : Cold / Allergies
Medication : C-Phen, Albuterol Mini Nebs, and Delsym
May 26th, 2009
(1 year 1mth 1wk)
Reason : 12 month shots
Finally Sean was clear and able to get his shots. He got 3 shots, one is each arm and one in his thigh. He obviously cried when they stuck him, but it took 2 minutes and a sucker for him to forget about it. He had no ill effects from the shots this time :)
Medication : MMR, Varcilla, and Prevnar
May 30th, 2009
(1 year 1mth 2wk)
Reason : I self diagnosed his green goopy swollen eyes.
They give you a whole bottle of these drops when they have pink eye and
you only use a very tiny bit of it. So I just used what I already had
from his previous case. This is his third time having it!
Diagnosis : Pink Eye
Medication : Neo-Poly drops
June 7th, 2009
(1 year 1mth 3wk)
Reason : I self diagnosed cold / allergy attack.
I have just gotten used to Sean having these flare ups, so I don't take him to the doctor unless there is a fever associated with it. I started treating with Cphen but I was not happy, so I switched to dimetapp and all his symptoms were finally resolved by June 17th.
Diagnosis : Cold and Allergies
Medication : C-Phen and Dimetapp
June 27th, 2009
(1 year 2mth 1wk)
Reason : I self diagnosed allergy / asthma attack.
I
have just gotten used to Sean having these flare ups, so I don't take
him to the doctor unless there is a fever associated with it. I started
treating with albuterol mini nebs when I heard him wheezing. I will keep an eye on him and if he precedes to get worse I will take him to the doctor. He has gotten worse in the sinus way. I have been alternating dimetapp and the c-phen. I have also had to give delsym at times as well - (7-13-09), finally resolved itself (7-17-09)
Diagnosis : Asthma and Allergies
Medication : Albuterol mini nebs, cphen, dimetapp, delsym
July 21st, 2009
(1 year 3mth 1wk)
Reason : 15 month check up
Weight : 25.10 pounds (62nd percentile)
Height : 32 inches (72nd percentile)
Head Circ : 19.5 inches (96th percentile)
Sean checked out very well at his check up. The only thing that the doctor even spoke about was the face that is spontaneous word skills werent awesome. I partly think I am to blame for this because he is still quite attached to his binky. So we will work on that. We also had another discussion about the whole allergist thing. He wants to try him on claritin first to see if it seems more allergy or cold related. So we are getting somewhere!
Diagnosis : Cold / Allergies
Medication : Claritin
August 4th, 2009
(1 year 3mth 3wk)
Reason : 15 month shots
Weight : 26.2 pounds (69th percentile)
Since he already had is actual check up, we just went in and the nurse gave him 3 shots.
Medication : Prevnar, Hib, DtaP
September 18th, 2009
(1 year 5mth)
Reason : High fever and not eating
Weight : 28.2 pounds (82nd percentile)
Sean had two previous days of a little diarrhea and low grade temps, but I associated all of it too the five teeth that are pushing through. Then this evening his temp sky rocketed to almost 103. The doctor said his Right ear looked awful and that is throat looked bad, but then when she listened to his lungs she said that he sounded very tight and wasn't moving air like she would like. She said there was very little wheezing, which leads you to his asthma. So his pulse ox was 93%, they went ahead and did a mini neb in this office, afterwards he sounded much better.
Diagnosis : Right ear infection, throat infection, and excerbation of asthma
Medication : Azithromycin and Albuterol mini nebs
September 21st, 2009
(1 year 5mth 1wk)
Reason : Hives
I called the doctor due to Sean breaking out in hives again. It was the weirdest thing . . . they werent there one minute and then just like that he was covered. I was not sure if he was related to his antibiotic or to the fact that I had given him half of a peanut butter sandwich. I the doctor was not sure either. So I went ahead and was advised to give Sean his next dose of antibiotic . . . he soon broke out again. So we stopped the antibiotic. That makes 3!!
Diagnosis : Allergic to Azithromycin
Medication : Benadryl and Albuterol mini nebs
September 29th, 2009
(1 year 5mth 2wk)
Reason : Ear check up / slight flu signs cause Masons +
Weight : 28.5 pounds (82nd percentile)
Seans ears were clear, which is good since we had to stop his antibiotic. He was running a low grade fever and the doctor told me to watch for stronger symptoms since Mason was positive for the flu. He is staying home too until the 7th.
Diagnosis : possible flu
