26-5-2010 - Jackson and Bailey updates

My mood while writing this blog: proud!!

Wow where has the time gone to? Jackson is now 4 years old and we have had a horrible time with him over the past several months. He started having a new kind of seizure in November. We have dealt with it in and out of hospitals, eegs, and medication increases. We finally switched drs, got him put on a new type of medicine and since we are getting him on a theraputic level he seems to be doing well. He has continued to lose weight but I feel like his eating is getting better. He is 28-29 pounds now. He goes to therapy at his school and is loving it so far so we are hoping he gets into pre-k this August. He is also working on potty training and doing well and learning so much!

Bailey is 1 week and 2 days away from being ONE!! I can not believe it has went by so fast! She is doing great!! She is getting ready to be discharged from occupational therapy, she is drinking from a straw cuppy we are going to start working on weaning from a bottle in the next few weeks. The physcial therapist saw no reason for her to get therapy. Bailey is commando crawling, sitting up when placed, pulling up to stand, and it attempting to cruise. For her adjusted age of 10 months she is doing wonderfully! She also will not eat baby food. She loves table food and gerber graduate meals! I am just so amazed at her! I havent had her weighed in a few months but I think she is somewhere around 17 pounds. Bailey is such a DRAMA QUEEN!! and a Mommas girl 100%!!! I thought the first child was supposed to be jealous and attached to mommy....I was wrong!

Nathan and I are also doing well. We had a pregnancy scare in Feb. I was late on my period and I thought I couldnt be pregnant I have my tubes tied. But I took a test to ease my mind and lo and behold it was positive. We took 2 more and they came back negative. I broke down and went to the dr and they did a blood test, urine test, and a ultrasound and I was not pregnant. I don't know what the first test was about but I found out 100% I was not. I think we got really scared but excited at the same time. I know I would love to have more children but I also know that I do not need to risk it again. We have talked about in maybe 10 years or so we can go get a tubal reversal and try our luck but right now we do not want anymore children.
