09-1-2010 - Hubby is getting fixed

My mood while writing this blog:

I've been a little MIA lately, I've just been popping in and out because my husband was on half days for the holidays so I spent as much time as possible with him. Plus Raelyn's weight got way too low so her nutritionist was having her come in weekly, sometimes twice a week.

Anyhoo! My husband is getting fixed! We talked it over for hours, figured out the pros and cons and we decided it would be best. He doesn't want any more kids at all. I thought I did, but when I heard all the cons and there we're a lot more cons than pros I decided I wanted him to get fixed as well. As much as I love staying home with my daughter all day, I'm not looking to do it much longer. I'm going insane staying home all day so as soon as she's in school I'm getting a job.

The military has a rule where you have to be 28 with at least 3 kids, but you can bypass the rule if a doctor overrides it. They say you need a medical excuse (which we have one...my sister died because of preeclampsia, and I had that when I was pregnant) but my hubs works with a guy who went in at 18 and said he hated kids and they let him do it. If they don't, then we'll just go off-base and pay out of pocket to get it done, which is what we kinda wanted to do anyways since the doctors on base aren't the smartest.

Are you sure you only 20 and young you may want more I have 3 kids and I want one more and it has been hard trying to get pregnant and I think that time has come and im 28 could you get on some kind of birth control for now for you want get pregnant later on in life on down the road you may look back and say why I let that happen once your kids are older its alot of people which they can turn back the time and which they didnt do things

hun, just 2 questions .. 1) how old is ur husband? and are u sure that u guys are willing to make that a PERMANENT decision?? just saying cuz ur my age and i couldnt imagine making that decision right now. u never know WHERE ur life is gonna take u and whats gonna happen.. u know? and 2) is "getting fixed" (LOL) reversible? ive heard it can be but i dunno if thats true.. just saying hun! of course this is ur guys choice and everything but if u say u guys talked about it and stuff then thats great.. just saying, think about it :) hope i didnt offend u.. just my opinion! xoxo

My DH is getting fixed as well. But they told us 25 and at least 2 healthy children.(military 2) And I also have a friend whos dad went 2 get fixed after having 3 almost grown daughters and he was coming up on his 40's and they kept telling him no! He had to go 2 several diff doc.s just 2 get one haha!! So who knows wuts right lol!! But im glad yall were able 2 talk about it and figure out what yall wanted. I remember you posting once and bein upset that hed chose 2 do that without talking to you. So im glad yall worked that out!!!

my hubby got fixed at 21, i was 20. I find no reason for it being any doctor''s buisness to try to 'change' your mind or say that he's too young. Its his body lol. My hubby recovered quite well, sex wasnt an issue afterwards. good luck keep me posted.

at least it can be reversed! i rather the males do it for that reason alone lol. good for ypu guys!

I hope you guys have her weight issues down ... finally! IF down the road you guys do decide you want to have another baby, you could have a reversal. The only thing is, I don't think there is any insurance out there that pays for it or helps to pay for it anyway. Keep us all posted on to what's going on :)

That is a big decision to make especially being so young, who knows one day he may change his mind and decide he wants another little one years down the road.......I hope that it is the right one for you guys. Good luck! :)
