21-5-2009 - Emma is one week old!

My mood while writing this blog: happy

My how time passes so quickly. I cant believe my little girl is already a week old!

Emma is such a good baby. She is doing really well. I think if I let her, she would sleep all night. She doesnt even fuss or cry much at all, only if she is hungry. So mellow. I couldnt ask for a better daughter! :D

We had a fun visit at Great Grandma and Grandpas house yesterday with my cousin and her 3 kids. She has a baby name Sophia who is just 7weeks older than Emma, and the difference in size is HUGE! hahah. Im greatful my little girl is small. Also, while we were there, Emma's cord came off! I couldnt believe it. It actaully made me a little nervous. I went to change her diaper, and it wasnt there! I looked to my mom and said "but she is only 6 days old, is that ok?" Oh, the things you worry about.

Feeding is slowly getting better. My milk came in so fast and plentiful that I have been dealing with engourgement. Ouch! Thank goodness for my mom being here to massage the lumps while I pump to relieve the pressure. I don't think I could make it without her help.

Emma's daddy also came to spend the day with us yesterday too. It was fine, at least he is putting forth some effort. He actually seems like he wants to be involved. (I know, that should have been the case about 9 months ago) Dont worry tho, he knows where I stand and that this is NO future with for me and him. As long as he wants to make the effort, I will let him see his baby. Im not going to take it away from him.

Anyway, thats just a little update on how things are going. I will post the birth story soon. Still trying to get around to everything. Hope all you ladies are doing well. Labor Dust to all of you who are close and to all you new mommies, congrats on the beautiful lil ones! :D
