18-6-2009 - Emma is 1 month

My mood while writing this blog: blessed

Emma turned one month old on the 14th! I cant even believe it has already been a month. She had her check up on the 16th and she now weighs 8lbs4.5oz! she is gettin so big! The doctor was impressed with her skills. She couldnt believe how alert, responsive, and strong my lil girl is. :D

Sunday night I had to go to the emergency room, I have strep throat and double ear infections...WTH?? I feel like a lil kid or something... haha. Im happy to say that today, I finally feel a bit better. Unfortunately because I wasnt drinking or eating much, my milk supply has gone way down! So now, I have been giving Emma two 4oz bottles of formula a day, once in the morning and once at night. She doesnt ever finish the whole bottle and I continue to feed from my breast as much as I can. But Im staying positive and just trying to build it back up. On a good note, I lost 8lbs because I have been sick! I know its not a good way to lose weight, but I wasnt trying.

Yesterday I was making silly faces and noises playing with Emma and she laughed! It was so cute. She has just started smiling while awake, but that was the first time she has laughed while awake! I cant wait until she does it more often! I love her so much and I feel so blessed to have her in my life. :D
