| 16-10-2009 - 31 week check-up with the specialist | My mood while writing this blog:excited |
So ladies, I went to my specialist on Tuesday to take a look at the growth of Emma and Ellie.... first of all I have very stubborn children that will not stay head down..... Emma has her head shoved down by my hip bone and is creating a nice little cone head for herself and Ellie is WAY up at the top of my uterus kind of in a transverse/breech position.
At 26 weeks the weight was:
Emma: 1lb 15oz
Ellie: 1lb 13oz
At 28 weeks the weight was:
Emma: 3lbs 1oz (17oz increase)
Ellie: 3lbs 1oz (19oz increase)
At 31 weeks the weight was:
Emma: 4lbs 5oz (20oz increase)
Ellie: 4lbs 9oz (24oz increase)
The girls are gaining weight like crazy! My pre-pregnancy weight was 160 and I have only gained 16lbs total. They want me to gain at least 30 but I dont see that happening. I eat all day and I'm not gaining any of the weight. They girls are. I love being pregnant because I never gain weight anywhere but in my belly. My doctor looked at me and goes.... "Wow, that is all baby." But also said that now we just sit and wait. They are ready, just need a little more fat on them. We're trying to keep them in there until they are at least 5lbs which should be in the next 2 weeks. This is amazing seeing as a month ago I didnt think I was going to make it this far.... at first they said..."Get to 32 weeks"... Now we're trying to get to 34 weeks and then after that Dr said we'll shoot for 36 weeks. Moving for me is getting extremely difficult. My hips, pelvis and lower abdominal area are very sore... and i get winded walking to the bathroom. But in the end it will all be worth it. Due to the steroid shots that I was given in the hospital, the girls lungs are fully developed which is really exciting and doc told me that if they get up above 5lbs that there is a very small chance that they will have to go to the NICU. I am so grateful for what God has given me. Even though its been a struggle, I know that he gave me these children for a reason. All three of my little girls are the highlight of my days and all my pain will be worth it when I see their beautiful faces for the first time. I will be putting their 31 week U/S pictures up soon.
