| 03-11-2008 - Change of Diet for Brock |
My mood while writing this blog: Bothered |
Hi Ladies.....So I will give you a little background ont he situation.....Brock has always had loose stools, like in his entire 17 months, never once a hard turd! So we have asked the doctors from time to time but we always got he "he is fine, just cut the juice intake" routine. I fianlly asked our regualr doctor againa dn expresses a little more concern about it and he asked us to eliminate all milk and lactose containing products from his diet. What a change that is, everything has milk in it of some form!! We got him some Rice Milk, he seems to like that but he will not drink the Soy. All of his favorite snacks have some kind of milk in them, cookies, crackers, bread, ice cream........
We started this thing a week ago today, and we thought we had a slight change as of last night, but then this morning, watery stools again!! So, now we take a stool sample for them to check and we go for an full allergy panel next wednesday. My poor boy getting poked over and over again, not a mothers dream doctor appointment!
Anyhow, of any of you have suggestions from past experiene with this kind of thing, your thought are appreciated!!

Wednesday, 5 Nov Hey sorry to hear your little guy is having trouble! I was told the opposite about milk, that it hardens stoles and causes constipation & they should take in about 20oz. a day. I don't give my son juice just the little bit that is in the gerber splashers which is mainly purified water with flavoring. My son is 18mths. old and thats what my Ped. told us at his 1.5yr check up. So based on that I wouldn't think milk would be causing him to have runny stoles I would think it would be the juice. Well hope that helps and you little guy gets to feeling better! samlib -
Tuesday, 4 Nov hello...sorry to hear your little guy is so sick...my good friends daughter has had runny stools since birth, she is 2, well she contracted this virus called c-diff (i think thats how it sounded when she told me) so anyway she got this virus and now she is prone to having the runny stools and such. well they had to cut out the juice, she is only to have natures way white orchard white grape juice or something on those lines and a complete change in diet, more protiens, meats and such. my friend kept hydrating her because she didn't want her to dehydrate well teh dr said no that mkes it worse because it was causin gher to have more runny stools. i can find out more , she told me this less then a month ago and already my story sounds foggy. but i hope brock feels better soon.... jterrill08 -
Tuesday, 4 Nov I wish I could suggest something but I've never had a baby before. I think I would have thought of cutting out dairy but since that isn't working, I'm not sure now. You know, being dehydrated causes loose stools. I'm wondering if he's not getting enough water. Anyway, let me know what the doctor says after next weeks appointment! Poor little lamb is not going to be happy but once you know, he will feel so much better in the long run. Strength to you both! love, jb MasonandEvasMommy -
Monday, 3 Nov Hmm...I wish I had some suggestions for you, but I really don't. I know that it won't be pleasant having him poked and prodded, but it will be good to get some answers so you can eliminate whatever is causing the problem. Poor little guy! :( Give him a big hug from Eva!
