11-5-2008 - 40 weeks, 1 day // 11th May 2008 Much ImpatienceMy mood while writing this blog:
Much Impatience

I know I already said that I probably wouldn't post another blog before bubbie's born, but bubbie isn't here yet and I am impatient AS.
I have got some possibly exciting news, however. I have been having irregular contractions since nine o'clock last night (18 contractions in 4 hours). Michael took me up to the hospital just after one this morning and the baby and I were monitored for a while and the nurse/midwife up there told us that I'm probably in early labor. So, we went back home and I have been getting quite mild contractions ever since, but I am getting more and more disheartened because they don't seem to be getting any worse or closer together.
I was reading on the internet today about how the positioning of bubs could be effecting the progress of my labor. Because bubba is in a posterior position, the back of the baby's head is covering my cervix and making it more difficult for the contractions I do have to actually do anything to push the baby downwards because the smallest area of the babys head usually helps the labor along by pressing the cervix and helping it dilate. So, that pretty much sucks for me. I really want my waters to break (as I have read is quite common in early posterior labors) so that I know baby isn't far away.
I haven't had many painful contractions yet today, which has made me incredibly miserable as I have been feeling like it's all just going to stop and I'll be back at square one.
I've got an appointment with the obstetrician early tomorrow afternoon to see how things are coming along. Hopefully she will be able to suggest something to hurry bubs along because my back and pubic bone are hurting me to buggery.
Baby is still quite active, which is good, as I know he/she is doing okay in there. But, damn, I just want to be able to hold my little angel already. Everyone keeps on saying to me, 'Are you still here?' No joke, it's starting to get to me. :( I envy those women who have their babies early or at least on their due date. It's just not fair.
But, maybe bubs is waiting to make his/her debut on Uncle Aaron's birthday, which is the 13th of May? Hopefully. Although, I was hoping for a Mothers Day baby, but with it already being 8.05pm, I see the chances of that slimming greatly.
Please God, I just want this baby to come. Bring on the contractions I say!
I hope that at my appointment tomorrow, the obstetrician checks my cervix and says that I'm dilating and am progressing. Please, I hope this is it.
Okay, now this time, hopefully this is my last entry before the baby gets here. Wish me luck!
