30-7-2008 - Anti-Natal App

After being discharged into my midwifes care 6 weeks ago, I’ve been feeling a little dis-guarded.

We lost our baby last year due to IC (Incompetent Cervix) so this time I have been fitted with a Cerclauge (stitch in the cervix) 6 weeks ago I was just told to turn up at the Birthing Suit on the 5^th Oct 08 to have the stitch removed. I have to say without the advice from all the ladies on the IC Forum I think I may have gone mad.

I spoke to my midwife & she made me an Anti-Natal App and at last I saw a doctor who knows what he’s talking about!!!! He did a full history going through my notes, explaining who, what, when and why.

Scared the life out of Peter I have to say though..... I had cervical cancer (the reason I have 1.25mm of cervix) 5 years ago & as it was glandular I have to test for the rest of my life & due to being pregnant last year & this year it has been 18mths since I had my last biopsy.

But that apart he has booked me an app for 32 weeks to check on how Poppy Jane is getting on and I couldn’t be happier.

So the cerclage comes out on Oct 5th ! Good for you...seems like it's all working out in yr favor...what could be better than that, right ? We are getting closer and closer to Oct and am soo ready for this darling lil guy growing inside me to make his appearance !

I'm glad you guys got to speak to someone that actually knew what they were doing. I had the same issues with my daughters midwife. I felt so judged and like no one wanted to fill me in on what was going on bc I was this 17 year old pregnant with a baby. This doctor I see now is amazing -- I know every detail and I llike to be informed. Good luck to you and I'll continue to pray for you!

Hi sweet pea!! Been a while since we talked. was actually thinking of messaging you last night but was tooooo tired. Anyway- i am sorry , i didnt know you had cancer before. I will pray for you as I pray for my mom. So Oct 8 the stitch somes out, huh? How exciting!! Sounds like thing are going smoothly for you. Great to hear that. :)
