| 27-5-2009 - placenta |  My mood while writing this blog:ok |
so when i had the bleeding a few weeks ago, they checked the placenta quite carefully with the u/s and really only noted that it was low lying. the doctor had phoned me to tell me and said, it usually moves up on it's own, so we'll reevaluate when we have to. So at the u/s this week (3 weeks after the bleed), it was noted that the placenta has now moved even closer to the opening of the uterus and now is 1 cm away from it. it's needs to be at least 3 cm away to deliver vaginally. so they'll book me for another scan at 30 weeks to check but if it hasn't gotten any better it will mean a c-section. so we shall see. in the meantime as per dr's orders as of today, we are on a no-sex order for the rest of the pregnancy. Bruce is actually being really great about it, which is awesome. if i have any bleeding at all, i'm to go straight to the hospital. so i'll just take it fairly easy i think :)
better news is that the results of my blood test and nuchal folds all came back good, so that's a relief!

Praying for you and that the placenta will move back up and for a safe rest of your pregnancy. Rest as much as you can and stay off your feet. Glad to hear your bloodwork was good. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

take it easy. By the sounds of how much your placenta has changed in the last 3 weeks, are the doctors completely sure you will be okay left until week 30, no stich, bed rest etc will be needed?
