30-4-2008 - 23wks very happyMy mood while writing this blog:
very happy

I've been reading this forum since i was around 8 weeks pregnant. Not sure why i haven't joined before as i found it both comforting & informative reading how other pregnant ladies were getting along.
This is my sixth pregnancy. I have a 19 year old daughter, a 13year old daugther & a 9 year old son already & found out around 4 weeks ago that we are having another little boy. Perfect.
The road hasn't always gone so smoothly for us we became pregnant 2 1/2 years ago but miscarried very quickly after 6 weeks. Then i conceived seven months later much to our joy, but again we miscarried, this time at 10 weeks. We were understandibly devastated. We decided we were going to try again and dispite our efforts nothing happened.
Time was ticking by & i must admit to a little panic as i was now approaching the scarey 35 yr mark & still nothing. Then we decided we needed a holiday & booked a wonderful family holiday to Cyprus in Aug 08, I remember saying to my husband 'watch me get pregnant now' & we actually laughed about it - We of course did! Our new son is due the day we would have returned.
Some things are just meant to be.
I had a very nervous first trimester, i worried at every twinge. I had horrible 'morning' sickness that lasted all day. When that started to fade around 11-12 weeks (as it does) i was thrown into another panic that mabe it was fading because there 'was something wrong' - i think looking back i must have drove my patient husband round the twist. I had a viability scan at 8 weeks that settled me for a couple of weeks then another at 13 weeks 5 days for dating. I think it was only then i started to believe i was going to have this baby.
We had our level 2 scan at 19wks 5 days after getting a slightly concerning Afp result. Our little boy appears to be very healthy & certainly is very active. We have a 4D scan booked on 31st May - they didn't have things like this when i had my other kids, they wouldn't even tell us what sex they were on the normal scans!
