20-8-2008 - Hooray!!!

A GIRL!!! My miracle child. After two previous emergency c-sections, this experience was amazing! It was so calm and a laid back, wonderful event. We arrived at the hospital at 6:00AM and were checked in and shown to a birthing room where I was preped for surgery. My husband and I chatted while he drank his coffee. We chatted with the nurses for an hour and a half and then we walked down to the operating room.

I got on the table and was asked to sit while the epidural was administered. My husband even took a picture of me sitting there with a smile on my face while it was happening. I watched them paint my belly and then they put up a curtain and I couldn't see anything else. They kept talking to me, explaining every thing that was going on. My surgeon arrived and we had a little chat about my boys whom she had met a few days previous.

So that's how it was. One minute we were talking and then I hear my baby's cry. At 8:08 on the 8th month of 2008 I met my tiny daughter. My husband chased them around taking pictures while they tested her and then he cut the cord. I watched all of that from the operating table. She got a 9 and a 10 for her apgar scores!

We are so thrilled. My boys adore their little sister and my husband can't do enough to help out with the baby. He is head over heels and she has everyone wrapped around her little fingers. We are truly blessed.

The recovery however, is really tough. I'm in a lot of pain still and am suspecting complications. Regardless, I can't complain as my daughter is such a little miracle.

Congratulations!! I am so happy for you. We got our miracle baby on the 6th of Aug. and couldn't be happier either. The best of luck and health to you and your family.
