28-12-2008 - 6'3" Tall first time pregnant mom-to-be!

I found this website last night while I was working a 12 hour night shift at the hospital and I am thrilled with what it has to offer. I found out I was pregnant for the very first time on Dec.19th. I am 5 weeks tommorrow and although I am just beside myself to be pregnant after just 3 months of trying to conceive, I have a lot of anxiety about making it to 12 weeks. I am a healthy 30 year old gal and I am 6'3" tall!! I hear taller women carry like a watermelon so I am excited. My hubby and I dont want to get our hopes up. Everything is so surreal since I have no symptoms as of yet and we found out 9 days ago. I have pre-existing (unexplained) hypertension and have my blood pressure's under control with medication. It is still unclear whether or not I will be classified as a "high risk case" or not although that's what it looks like according to my GP and OB.

I look forward to talking to other newly pregnant first time mom's or repeat moms:) and if there are any other six footers out there, that would be cool to compare notes along the way. My hubby and I worry a little bit that we will have an enormous baby since he was 10lbs 5 oz and I was induced pre-maturely by a month and was 8 lbs (my brother was 10lbs 9 oz). Our OB will also be watching for a giant baby. I am 6'3" 170lbs and generally happy with my weight but big babies run in the family and judging by our genetics alone, its almost a guarantee we will have a 10 lbs baby.....eeek!!!!!
