oh, I hope he steps up and becomes a man. It's great you're being civil. I have 2 stepkids who both have different mothers - the moms and I get along really well. It's so important to the kids. Be clear with him, he's either in, and he wants to be a dad, or he's not. No waltzing in and out of her life. I'm so happy you've reached the first real step!! Stay hopeful!! Much luck

Alex, Savannah and I had lunch today. It went very well. He apologized for the first time in his life and seemed sincere. He also gave me money and paid for lunch. We had a good, simple, first conversation since we broke up. Not too heavy, not to light. It was nice to see him on good terms again. Savannah smiled at him the entire time. She has a little cold so I thought she would be fussy but she had a good time too. I don't know what the next step will be or if there is even a next step but I love that we are being civilized.
