11-7-2008 - 33+1 weeks

My mood while writing this blog: Soooo happy!

Well I'm finally getting there! We had a growth scan yesterday because my fundal measurment is coming up at 40 weeks and I'm only 33+1 lol. We decided to find out the sex while we were there (My husband, Rob, wanted to wait but I just couldnt wait any longer!) and its a BOY! We're sooo happy. Its what we were hoping for as we already have a little girl so a baby boy is just perfect. He isnt all that long, but already weighing 5lb which is a bit above average I think? They estimate he'll be between 8lb-8lb 7oz at birth but we'll see.There isnt alot of fluid around him or anything so they dont know why I'm so big, probably because I'm only 5ft 2 so there isnt anywhere for it to go but outwards! He's in a really good position for birth, not back to back or anything and his head is engaging so hopefully wont be too long now!
I'm being induced at 38 weeks as long as my cervix is favourable (no idea what that means so would love any advise on what it means and how to achieve it!) because I'm in alot of pain with my SPD and also, my first was 8lb and she got stuck (although she was back to back) so they dont want baby to get too big.
I'm feeling ok at the moment, on a complete high because we're having a little boy but also in alot of pain with my SPD. I'm on crutches at the moment and having to take regular pain killers just to get through the day. Its deteriorated so much in the last 3 weeks, 3 weeks ago I could walk into town and home again walk up stairs and things, now I cant do any of that. My husband has to help me up and down stairs, in and out the bath and to the loo in the night. I cant walk into town anymore because it just hurts too much and cant do anything that involves opening my legs more than a few centimetres. I have to set my alarm 20 minutes before Abby wakes up in the morning so I can take my pain killers or I just cant get out of bed! Thats the thing that upsets me the most, 3 weeks ago I wasnt waking up in pain and could manage ok throughout the day and in the evenings it hurt but now I actually wake up in pain and it just gets worse throughout the day. I dont sleep at all either, I'm just in so much pain!
But on the bright side, its hopefully only 5 weeks until I meet my baby!
