04-10-2008 - Mucus Plug

My mood while writing this blog: anxious

Yesterday and today was the Jessamine Jamboree. My town has a parade and sets up vendors at the courthouse selling knick-knacks. Kenny and I went downtown yesterday and walked around to all the booths and then went home. By the time I got home I felt like I had been riding a bike for hours on end. I was extremley sore. I've never felt like that before. It hurt so bad I could cry.

Well today we got up early and watched the parade and then came in for a couple of hours. I noticed that I was having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. But, like usual, I ignored them and kept on with my day. After awhile, around 5, we went back downtown and walked more than we did the night before. Making up for the unventured grounds and I felt fine. Just the usual pain in the lower region and pressure. When I came home I went straight to the bathroom and that is when I noticed something that wasn't vaginal dishcharge. I was like a chunk of jelly mucus. It wasn't the thin discharge I've been use to but a chunk of -no other way to describe it- mucus.

So I've been online researching "mucus plug." It says I don't need to contact my doctor unless lot of blood. I am guessing it was my mucus plug which scares me because it said you loosing your mucus plug means your cervix is opening and dialating. This could mean labor could start today, in days, or two weeks!!

Now that scares me. My doctors appointment is Wednesday so I think I might hold of until then to see what he says.

But I am scared, anyone got any advice or experiences???????
