| 01-7-2009 - 7 Months | My mood while writing this blog:happy |
Can you believe how fast our babies are growing and evolving? From labor to crawling and teeth in seven months makes me shake my head and wonder where the time has gone. That reminds me..Carson has been crawling for three weeks now and ladies it has kept me on my toes. Baby gates have become my best friend and if the baby gates are absent then a towel is second in line. If I put him on the floor and try to escape to the kitchen he is right behind me getting into the doggies water. I can't believe how fast he has become.
Besides crawling at the speed of a road runner Carson has hit other milestones. Is it just me, or is there a lot of developing at this age?
He is now pulling himself up to a standing position!!! The first time he did this I was laying on the floor while he banged his toys around. During this time he crawled over (like a pro) and pulled himself up on my leg until he was standing on his feet wobbling back and forth. Now, if he can get a grip he is standing. From baby gates to couches that boy will stand!
I am positive his top teeth about to emerge. When he got his "first" tooth, it wasn't his first tooth, it was teeth. The bottom ones came in together. But it looks like I can see the outline of his entire top row through his gums.
Carson can clap!! When I was sitting on the couch I clapped my hands and he mimicked! Now you can look at him, clap our hands and he will follow!
The same with waving. He hasn't gotten it down like the clapping but it is evolving.
With that said, the milestone that has made me the proudest is.... he now says momma without winning. He has been saying dada like crazy and it is about time he said mommy.
Each morning, after a diaper and clothes change, I take Carson to the hallway where a board of pictures clad the walls. I point to certain pictures and ask "Carson who's that?" .... "mommy!" And he follows my finger to each person. I will point at a picture of me and he will look where I am pointing, and if I point to another person he will follow.
Then one day he just started saying it! All the time. I will be doing the dishes and he will be playing in his activity saucer and will start saying, mom, mom, mom, momma!
The thing is, he knows I am momma and Kenny is daddy!

Our county fair is next weekend and I am entering Carson into the "baby show." The theme is beachwear/swimwear. I think it will be fun and a good experience. All the babies win a trophy and with me, winning isn't everything.
I think it will be fun. So today I went shopping. And I L O V E Gymboree! They have the cutest clothes and accessories for both boys and girls. But I got his swimming trunks and skin guard from there and sandals from Carters. The swim outfit is super cute! The shirt has a monkey on it and the bottoms are plaid.
I tried it on him, and he looked super cute.

But with all this growing I am missing having a baby! He isn't a baby anymore but a young boy. You know, three years ago, I would have told you "that you were crazy" with the a mention of me having children. But now, I want more. Maybe not now, but having a child is the best thing that I have ever done in my life!!
