I had to have emergency surgery Friday morning to have my gallbladder removed. How long do I have to wait before it's safe to nurse?

Good luck dear! I had mine removed in '98. It wasnt fun, but compared to the recovery of the csection, it was much easier having my gall bladder removed!! I was pumping while taking percocets and they were ok with giving him the milk in the NICU, so I would just let the Dr know you are breastfeeding and they should be able to prescribe you something safe.

I hope everything is ok now. how weird this past week i just found out i have gallstones. I find out on the 16 if they will take it out or just the stone. breastfeeding should be find as long as the pain meds are safe for the baby. let me know what you find out..
