| 26-5-2009 - making my own crib set? |
My mood while writing this blog: unsure |
Does anyone out there have any experience with sewing? I found a pretty easy to follow set of instruction on making a crib bedding set and though I could do it. Mind you I have no experience with a sewing machine. I've hand sewn things before but nothing as big a an entire bedding set. Any words of advice from someone with experience on this. I bought a $80 brothers sewing machine at walmart today and followed the DVD instructions on using the thread and different settings. Seemed pretty easy. I would practice on smaller things before I buy the fabric for the bedding, but I'm feeling a little unsure if I can do this. I'm a perfectionist so if it doesn't come out perfect I'm gonna be pissed. What do you guys think? Should I go for it?

Wednesday, 27 May i think you can do it, but getting a fitted sheet sounds good, but my cuz says working with elastic isnt that hard either...mom said she wants to do min but well see, i think she might change her mind later and just buy it! lol allmommywantedwasabackrub -
Wednesday, 27 May It is very easy, just make sure you are cutting and sewing straight lines. I too am making my crib bedding, however, I am buying fitted sheets, I am not confident working with elastic and I would hate for it to not fit right and come off in the middle of the night and cause harm to the baby. Good luck!! Danni74 -

Tuesday, 26 May I can't sew to save my life but my mother does and she picked it up really easily. Why not buy some test material and have a go with that first to test it out. That way you will know if it is worth investing further.
