12-12-2009 - OPERATION: Kotex

My mood while writing this blog: Silly

This past week was my 1st week back to work since I had my 2nd baby 8 weeks ago. It was a rather uneventful week....until Friday afternoon -

I went to the restroom after lunch and realized that I had started my period, the 1st one since I gave birth. So I used the "crunchy" toilet paper in our ladies room to stop the leak and ran back to my desk to grab a tampon - low and behold I was completely unprepared and could not find one! I searched my purse and all of my coat pockets, nothing made out of cotten was anywhere to be found! I was ready to go ask a co-worker for some help (I did not do this 1st because I work with a lot of men and women that have already went through the change) when I remembered that I might have something at the bottom of my "junk" drawer in my desk. I dug threw the drawer and at the bottom, there it was.....a Super Kotex tampon - out of the wrapper in in 3 completely seperate pieces; 2 plastic applicator pieces and the cotton w/ string attached. HOLY SHIT, just my luck! I knew this was my only hope, so I bent over the drawer and began performing surgery on the tampon......the cotton peice was pretty ballooned out, but I thought " what the hell, I just pushed a baby out of there, so I am pretty sure I am stretched out too!" I managed to put it back together and shoved it down the front of my jeans and darted for the bathroom! Everything worked out just, and minutes later OPERATION Kotex was complete!

As I sit here and type this, I just remembered that I threw the ripped up tampon wrapper from my desk drawer in my desk trash can - boy, I bet the cleaning guy will wonder when she finds that 2 floors away from the bathroom! :)
