18-3-2009 - Im back and looking for advice

Hi Ladies,

How are you all? I've named this blog "im back" as for the past week i havent been able to access ANY comments or blogs or leave any for you all,.. thought my days on this site were over and i started having withdrawel symptoms lol - Anyway. its all working again so im back.......

Im looking for some advice/help/reassurance, whatever you wanna call it. You all know ive been having a pretty much tough couple weeks with severe kidney infection/headaches, well, im still having REALLY bad headaches and they've been causing lack of sleep which the doctor is now saying is the reason for them, ive been told its fatique!!! Anyway, now i have a new problem which is what im looking for advice with.. Yesterday was St Patricks day here in Ireland (happy paddys day to you all btw), and i spent the day at the parade and then out at my sisters, as it was such a beautiful day she decided to have a BBQ in the garden of her new house, so the whole day was spent outside, standing around in the sun. Had headache most of the day and tummy felt really uncomfortable, but i put it down to all the standing around at the parade, got home last night and for the first night in weeks, months even, i slept for the entire night,,,didnt wake once(think it was due to all the fresh air)! So, i wake this morning at 7am to get the kids up for school, and went to the loo..........i was bleeding! I got so so scared and worried, convinced id lost the baby. This is the first ive ever bled in any of my pregnancies and im scared senseless! I went to the hospital and they done a scan, Baby is fine, moving around the place, even grasping its little hands together , they said its normal in some women to bleed but im still worried about it, even though i seen baby is fine.. Has anyone of you bled in your pregnancy, if so, have you had pain with it? Im having some pains but the doctor said its prob just stretching and im still bleeding.... I really dont wanna lose this baby

I only bled once during this, my first pregnancy. It really scared me. But the nurse said it is normal as long as it is no accompanied by pain. She also said that if you are bleeding enough to fill a pad in 1 hour, that you should go in immediately. Otherwise, you have nothing to worry about. Keep me posted!

I hope everything is ok, as long as you've seen that baby is ok I would try not to worry to much. Has it slowed down or stopped?

I have never had bleeding like that. It would scare me too. Just keep in contact with the dr. and make sure you keep him upto date. I wouldnt drop your guard yet. I hope everything goes well with you. Keep us updated. Chrissi-

I had bleeding and cramping between 9 and 10 weeks, on and off for about 4 days. Went to the hospital and the doc told me I was just 'overdoing it'. With my 2nd pregnancy I had bleeding at 4 and 8 weeks, just like a light period. I hope everything's ok with you and your baby. Just take it easy (as if you can do that with little ones running around). :-)
