28-8-2009 - Going into 37 weeks/Lost mucus plug/getting irregular contractions but STILL not in labour!!

Fed up!!!

Hi ladies,

Hope your all feeling well this week!!! Im having another moan here, seems to be all im doing these days.... I am so thankful t be having a healthy baby so i shouldnt be moaning but im soooooooooooooooooo done with being pregnant............
Last fri (week ago), i lost some of my mucus plug... Wasnt too sure at first if that was what it was but found out it was.. never happened to me before that way, whenever i lost my plug it was my show when labour had started and was pinky in colour.. This time it was clear and gooey kinda like (tmi) snot!! so, on Tues morning, i woke @ 5am having really strong period like pains, went downstairs and started timing them on contraction master (for those of you who havent heard of it, its a brill tool for when contractions start - heres the link.. http://contractionmaster.com/) so, anyway, by 8am, the contractions were coming roughly every 15-20 mins but were still like period pains so i decided to have a bath to ease the pains....... And guess what! It totally stopped them!!!! Went for a lie down after the bath and woke up couple hours later with them stopped!!! I was so fed up!! Really thought this was it.. I had a GP app for that afternoon so went to him and told him what happened that morning and when he checked baby, he told me she was fully engaged and asked if i had someone to bring me into hospital and to mind the other kids as i was ready to go at any time!!!
On Wed afternoon the pains started again, not as strong as Tues morning thou but i also had another show and was also leaking some water so we decided to head into the hospital to get checked out... They done fetal tracing and all was ok, tested to see if my waters were leaking, and done an internal exam but said although im 2cms dialated (which i wud be after having 3 kids), im not in active labour.... But, they wanted me back next morning (yesterday) to have another scan as again they were worried about the water around Eden.... So i went back yesterday, had scan, all ok with water levels but when i went in to see the doctor(different doc from night before), she asked if i was still leaking water and when i said yeah she asked to see my pad and when seen it said she was gonna have to do the test again to see if i was losing amniotic fluid and if i was , i was gonna have to be admitted to go on a course of anti-biotics....... Test came back negative again but she said i had had another show while she was doing the test..and also said i am leaking some fluid when i have tightenings?!? Said if the pains get worse, im to go straight back in as im 37 weeks tomorrow and Eden could come at any time as im in very slow labour, BUT, i could be like this for another 3 weeks and they WONT be doing anything to help move it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, needless to say, im still here waiting for something to happen, still having bad period pains,, the SPD is the worst its EVER been, bones are grinding off each othere when i walk,, and the hospital wont help me at all!!! Im due back to the clinic on monday so im hoping i get to see a different doctor then and hopefully appeal to his/her better side to see if they'll do something... I just really want her outa me and for this to be over with...

Sorry it was so long,,, needed a good venting and think my family are sick of listening to me now

Sounds like you will be next....Lucky Girl..LOL Sorry your in so much pain......I am so jelous thow...I just saw my Dr and my cervix is still long ,hard, and cloesed..........hang in there, baby will come out soon....

Hopefully it won't be too much longer until both our little ones are here, more so for u, as am just tired and just want to meet my baby now! Whereas u seem to be having a really difficult time especially with the SPD that just sounds horrible! I've been having period pains but I find it hard to time because its just like constant pain but no bloody show yet! Take care maybe in the next 2 weeks Eden-Skye will be here! I have 2 weeks until my due date yeah!!! Speak soon! xxx

You poor thing! I really hope she hurries up for you and that the SPD is as kind as it will ever be! I have been having loads of period like pains but when I went to the MW she said the baby was only brim! I think I am in for a looooong wait. Thinking of you though lovely. Hope it all goes well!

I'm sorry for what you're going through too. It does sound like things are progressing, even if it is slowly, so that's good. After already having a couple of kids it would seem your body wouldn't take too long to get ready. I'm hoping for the best for you that you'll be out of this pain soon. I don't think it will be 3 more weeks, at least I really hope not.
