23-8-2010 - 6 Month Appt

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Mr Carter had his 6 month appt last week, he weighed in at 15lbs 10 oz and was 29 inches long! Looks like he is going to be very tall and thin just like his daddy & sister :) We had some issues while we were there, but nothing major (I guess if I were a guy I prob wouldnt say that) Some of the skin on his penis had started to adhere to the head in 3 places, so the doctor had to gently pull it apart. My poor little man screamed!! and I felt terrible! Then to top it off he had to get 3 shots! But I am grateful they caught it now, because he said if it had gone any longer then he prob would have needed surgery :( Its so weird that it happened that fast, they check his penis at every visit, and we were there a month ago.. The doctor said it is because when they circumsized him they left a little extra skin.. I just wonder why no one ever told me to look out for this? Now all we have to do is put some vaseline on it when we change him, but if I had known then maybe I could have avoided my little guy going thru all that pain. The ped said the the doctor that did the circumcision should have come in after and given me instructions and told me to watch for that... nope never happened! We had a humungous snow storm here when I had my son, they had a hard time even finding someone to come in and assist with the c-section, actually had to call in a Dr from another practice.. So when the Dr was able to get back for the circumcision it was like 10:30 at nite, and he just took him, did the thing & then bounced.. And this is why I have since switched practices lol

But other then that little set back he is doing wonderful! Pulling himself up on anything he can, and now he is starting to let go and test his balance. He can even stay standing for a couple seconds after he lets go! I have a feeling he will be walking before we know it, kind of scary to think about having 2 running around! Its amazing to see him growing, but I do miss my little guy that just wanted nothing more then to breastfeed and snuggle lol
